    Political Messages on your MV

Since the OP asked for opinions, here's mine. There are lots of things I have a right to do and don't, out of consideration for others. I never pull out in front of an overtaking vehicle to pass a slower vehicle in front of me, it forces the overtaking vehicle to slow down and is...

    They lost my truck!!!!

This is a very familiar story. I talked to both this woman and her husband last February, they had a pristine depot rebuild 818 listed on both Ebay and CL, and they were in Hemet, California. She said they were selling everything and moving back to West Virginia. They had several trucks, and the...

    Paint

That is a great idea Mike. Especially for areas like the bed that need a lot of paint and get beat up. I already put on Rustoleum Rusty Metal Primer on the inside of the bed with a roller. Some Behr paint from Home Despot might be just the thing!

When Do We Need Power Steering?

Finally I have an explanation. Thanks! I am running the 46" radials on Clint's wheels too. I don't have any problems steering on the road. There is a hill I have to go up sometimes though that has some medium ruts. The tires do the steering. It is ALL I can do to hold the wheel and get the...

    High Priced Deuce!

^^Anyways^^ back to those A3s in Utah, does anyone know what they sold for? There were four in two different recent auctions. One thing I have learned is you have to know what things are selling for in order to recognize a good deal when you see one, and when to keep your wallet closed. I...

GL Wins today 10/29 - what did you buy?

Yep, that one was a beauty. I just needed more money and parking space and it would have been mine!

Why did you buy your deuce

I wanted one since the first time I saw one as a kid. They're so pretty!

GL Wins today 10/29 - what did you buy?

Did anyone here end up with those two M35a3s in Utah? They went for a good price. They would have cost even more if I had the room in the driveway.:-D

Looking for suggestions on what to do with this nifty little gas-turbine genset...

Not so useless! What would be better for charging a battery bank for off the grid power? 28vdc is perfect for charging a 24vdc battery bank. You could combine it with solar and wind as the site allows, and use the genny to top off the batteries when needed.

    Is it just me?

I am SURE it used to be spelled correctly. I think it is a test. Of something.

    Is it just me?

I am sure this section used to be spelled correctly. Now it's spelled Transporation Needs. Transportation Needs is correct spelling. Am I imagining things? Or did I miss this all along. Might be a trick.

    10,000 dollars of Deuces. . .

If it is Forrest Gump you are talking about, it is a great truck for the money. It needed nothing.

    deuce w/ shipping contaniner?

I think for one thing the site owner does not want the focus of the site to stray from MVs. That is his right and is reasonable. Secondly, there are some vocal and active members here who don't like any discussion of contingency planning or preparedness for their own personal reasons. Their...

    deuce w/ shipping contaniner?

As others have said, a shipping container is pretty heavy and would need structural modification to fit in the bed of a deuce. I think the added weight would detract from the mobility required for a BOV. You didn't state why you were wanting to use a cargo container, but some reasons do come to...

    Multifuel Gensets?

Thank you very much. This is what I thought the case was, but was not sure. I didn't know about the coking. Did a little reading here: Fuel Injector Cleaner And this is the salient point "The # 1 cause of dirty injectors is bad fuel. Bad fuel can be old, contaminated and just poor quality"...

    Multifuel Gensets?

Yep. Way overkill for a light residential application. There is also the issue of adding the controls so it will auto start. I love the mulitfuel engine, but it is not something you can just connect some controls up to and expect it to be remotely run. It needs some hand loving and attention.

    Multifuel Gensets?

I love that idea! That's what I was thinking when I started looking into this. Turns out that generator sizing is a bit complicated. If the generator does not operate under a heavy enough load then you get what's called Wet Stacking. The LDT-465 is just too big for my application. What I am...

    Multifuel Gensets?

I read the manuals, read everything I could find here and elsewhere. I appreciate the helpful replies about what the manual says, but I know what the recommended fuel is for the MEP generators. Diesel. Ford and Cummins also specify diesel fuel only in the manuals for their pickups but there are...
