We put the half worn out 36" humvee tires on the M880
WOW! low power, open differentials. Out lasted & out did many other trucks with more power, locked axles and no concern for having to drive it home.
Heck my boy Rob, even stopped next to stuck...

Stumbled across a 77 M888 Telephone truck.
On ebay listed as a "1978 Dodge Ram 2500 W200"
These are not common trucks and this one is in decent shape too!.

I got a line on the cross member(NOS) for the skid plate, he has several. never seen a skid plate yet though.
Would be interested in 2 or 3 of them (skid plates) if anyone knows where to find them.
Until now I have not been stumped by electrical issues with all my 77 Dodges.

Picked up another M886 yesterday :roll:
On the way home I came to the realization that it was last May when I picked up the M880 that I was towing this M886 home with.
After I buy this one, I find out I could of got a rust free M725 with an oil burning problem.
Oh well.
and my Apologies to...
I'm thinking about getting another M886, Why? because it's there.
With 2, I could keep the current one original, and make an olive drab / camo camper special put of this one.
An extra leaf in the springs, all the way around and some Humvee tires? Anyone have a pic how a Humvee rim fits / works...

Definately rusty but trusty was my main hauler for a couple years, found a rust free M880
with less miles as an upgrade.
It needs cab floor work, front u-joints and the tires are not fit for the highway.
