What happens if you hold it in the start position longer?

    MEP-803A Hard cold starting

Are you turning S1 to the off position after it dies to reset everything? How long are you holding S1 in the start position? It may take several seconds for oil pressure to build in the cut off switch to keep it running.

    New Project MEP803

You don't need to use cherry picker to separate engine and gen head. Rotor and stator are manageable by hand if you in separate pieces. I wouldn't be able to move both together and you will need cherry picker or tractor for the engine!

This is the description from their page. It should give some part numbers to search also. Mitsubishi made the original starter for Onan. THIS SOLENOID REPLACES THE FOLLOWING PART NUMBERS: HYUNDAI3612041000 MITSUBISHI: M371X02071 M372X10171 M372X10371 M372X11171 MITSUBISHI HEAVY INDUSTRIES...

That's weird. If I click that link it goes right to the part. The page with the part showing is where the link was copied from. If you google New 24V Solenoid Fits Mitsubishi Fuso Fe 3.3L 1987 1988 1989 3612041000 M2t67883this will work. One of the first search results was Walmart, but they...

I do. Google doesn't bring to much up with it so I thought it was easier to give a link. Manufacture appears to be JNN and part number 245-48052.

Ok update on the solenoid. I found one that is the same thing with a different part number. Under $25 to my door is a cheap enough fix. https://www.rareelectrical.com/i-26927486-new-24v-solenoid-fits-mitsubishi-fuso-fe-3-3l-1987-1988-1989-3612041000-m2t67883.html This listing says it has a male...

    Help me identify these wires

I've had that exact same setup with a tobyhanna remote partially disassembled for sure. I may still have pics of it. They probably have the same wiring for more than one use then. I've torn that wiring out at least a couple dozen times. Looking at the first picture I'm not sure that would reach...

What size plug is used on Rear wheel CTIS removal?

Just to update this post with a little clearer info. The tube size is 5/8. The thread is a -10AN which is a 7/8x14 thread. Parker makes caps with orings for a couple dollars each. Search "Parker 10 P5ON-S SAE Hex Head Pipe Plug 7/8-14 ORB Male Steel" if you want to find them reasonably.

    Help me identify these wires

They removed the rest of the remote system before sale. Technically it is still classified so all the remote systems should have been removed before sale. I have had a couple units that were partially removed and several with the system still intact. Every one of them had those two wires there...

    Help me identify these wires

That sure looks like the remnants of a Tobyhanna mod like Guy said. I have had several units with the mod and they all had the wires there.

I can probably scavenge a rod or two as well. I will check messages and get back to you

    New Project MEP803

That's not real clear advertising! Hope you get a good one. I do have a crank and flywheel. Speak quick if you want the flywheel though. I've had someone not on the forum asking about it. Flywheel is in good shape. Will have to pull crank to check before I say it's good.

    New Project MEP803

Looks like someone has been monkeying around with that set. Every speed sensor I've pulled has had some metal on it but nothing like that! If you just want a replacement crank I can verify that engine I have sitting has a good crank.

    New Project MEP803

If the generator isn't turning the stator will have to be pulled to check the rotor bolts. At that point it isn't that much more work to just pull the engine. I remove rotor and stator while in genset and just spin the motor out sideways without disassembling entire front. Radiator can stay in too.

    starting 802 with no electronics

Lots of knockoff starters pretty cheap. This isn't something that needs to be addressed right away as this is just a parts unit and spare starter. I hate to buy another starter just because the solenoid is toast. Nothing wrong with the actual starter. I found an identical 12v solenoid that I am...

    starting 802 with no electronics

Ok looks like the solenoid is not serviceable. The bakelite cap is crimped on and will be destroyed in the process of opening it. I called two different industrial starter shops. Neither shop can get the solenoid based on the Onan part number 191-1609. I googled that number and found a some...

I asked Demoh and it is on a back burner for now. I'd be very interested in this technology!

    starting 802 with no electronics

That is a good idea. Looks like this was turned into a parts unit because the starter didn't work. Hours on hour meter matched hours on oil filter for the last oil change. Looks like they changed the oil and never got it fired back up and started robbing parts. Works for me as I only have a...
