    Pyrometers

After having done it I agree that it would have been fine to do while assembled and running. I'm just overly cautious until I fully understand something.

    Pyrometers

Got her all back together. Ended up removing my turbo anyway. Replaced the gaskets and oil return when I put it back together. It's nice to know how hot I'm getting now. I'm not sure how high my boost will go but It will quickly spool up to 15psi which is where I let off. Taking it easy on a...

    What is it Worth?

I know nothing about these jeeps but it seems the OP did the right thing by asking.

    m35a2 oil line bleeding

I'll replace the manifold to turbo and turbo to exhaust gaskets. I think the oil lines are flared fittings with a fitting attached to the turbo with a gasket in between. I won't be replacing those gaskets at the moment since I won't be removing them. Thanks for all the help everyone.

    m35a2 oil line bleeding

I searched around and couldn't find anything on the topic so I guess that's a good thing. I'll be removing my turbo in order to drill the manifold for a pyrometer install. (I know I don't absolutely have to). So my question is, when I reconnect the oil lines is there anything I need to do to...

    Pyrometers

The only thing that makes me nervous about installing a pyrometer is drilling into the manifold before the turbo. It seems that's what most people here have done. In my mind I know that if the engine is running, there is little to no chance of dropping chips into the turbo. But if some do fall...

Need advice on adding air shutdown to m35a2

I saw that. Good idea in the case of injector pump problems.

Need advice on adding air shutdown to m35a2

I was just out in the driveway thinking about this post. I suppose that would work in an emergency. And you've seen it done?

Need advice on adding air shutdown to m35a2

Thanks for all the replies. I'm just waiting on the valve to arrive. I'll take some pictures and post later.

Need advice on adding air shutdown to m35a2

That pretty much it. Except I will be cutting the metal u-pipe and installing a 3" brass ball valve. I'll rig up a pull cable to go inside of the cab.

Need advice on adding air shutdown to m35a2

I retract that. It probably wouldn't exceed the pressures reached on a combustion stroke.

Need advice on adding air shutdown to m35a2

I was wondering the same thing. Also rods and pistons.

Need advice on adding air shutdown to m35a2

No I haven't. Do you mean a Jake brake? That would be pretty cool.

Need advice on adding air shutdown to m35a2

I saw this anwhile ago which is why I have a blast gate. The only thing I don't like is that it's not sealed. Not that it makes much difference but I'm ocd about that kind of thing. Good idea with the spring. Thanks.

Need advice on adding air shutdown to m35a2

I want to install a shutdown valve on the metal u-pipe right before the turbo. My only concern is the rubber hose that connects the pipe to the turbo. In the case of a runaway would the suction generated be enough to basically suck that rubber hose into the turbo and continue running away? Any...

    Multi-Fuel Engine won't start - Compression??

To the question of turning up fuel. Factory setting for the fuel screw is I think 1\8 inch protruding. Mine won't even start warm at that setting. When I got mine the screw was about a half inch out and started\ran fine. So I just leave it there. Just remember that your foot is the final fuel...

    No power/start

It doesn't take much to stop electrcity. Yup check\clean connections. I've also seen corrosion start inside a power cable. It looks fine on the outside but is full of green dust when cut open. It could also be a bad power switch.
