I see you have no traction control (eg. ladder bars, 4 link etc.) I have a feeling you may be getting axle wrap, which leads to wheel hop, which leads to broken parts. I built a bobber with 105 springs (with overloads) and the wrap was terrible. I don't have a bed on mine yet and before I put a...
On the speed thing...If you are going 20 miles in a deuce at 50 mph it will take you 40 minutes to get there... If you are going there at 70 mph you will get there 12 minutes faster...But you will also be all worn out from trying to wrestle a vehicle down the road at a speed faster than it...
You don't by chance have the exhaust pipe close to the master cylinder or brake lines do you? Heat will boil the fluid and then you just pump air.

It looks like the 135 has some sort of traction control link hooked to the front suspension. Anyone got a close up pic of this? I need to put something like this on my deuce.

From what I learned from Gale Banks' website high EGT's are caused by too much fuel or not enough air. Could be a clogged air filter or maybe a turbo going south.

Yeah, I am building a set of shackled ladder bars as we speak. I already bought the three point upper links and am fabbing the mounts this weekend.

I think I read (on this forum) that in 1st gear-low side that there is 28,000 lb.ft. of torque available. I have a bobber and I already have axle wrap issues..... Can't imagine what it'd be like doubled.

No Kyle, I still don't have them mounted yet, I want to do some work to the wheels first. I may flip the center like Jesse (Jesus Gatos) did or widen them about three inches to have them sit more outboard for a tougher stance. I still don't have the bed mounted nor is anything ready for paint...
Now that is a he[[ of a good idea.. I really like the shackle, it would eliminate the binding of the fore and aft movement of the rear end while still controlling the wrap. You is a purdy sharp cookie.

I had thought about plug welding and had planned on doing that, but I hadn't considered fishmouthing to weld to the rod ends. That's a good idea! I wonder how the rubber bushing will like being welded so close? I was thinking of using rectangular tubing as it would conform more to the shape of...
Hi guys, I need some info. I need to lengthen a torque rod about 5" to use on a bobbed deuce for axle wrap prevention. Any ideas? I can gas weld and braze. I also have a mig welder set up for mild steel. would a sleeve be advised? Or should I scrap the idea and build something like the top half...
