I won a 1031 from GL last week and now need to get it off the base by the 17th since for whatever reason there's no EUC.
Is there anyone who could get it off of Sierra and hold it until I can get something planned to come get it, I would REALLY appreciate it. Would probably need no more than a...
I am getting to the point where I'm changing over the Sub from 6 to 8 lugs and wanted some opinions on wheels.
I want to run 33x12.5 16s on something military looking so I'm guessing my only option to get something wide enough to run that tire without sucking the sidewall in is to have Stockton...
The other post about Vietnam Gun trucks had mention (I believe by SasquatchSanta) of a deuce gun truck called 'No Slack' operated by one of the Air Force Civil Engineers RED HORSE units.
Does anyone have further information about this truck? How it was marked, which unit had it, etc?
Thanks,
Joe
I did some NSN searching on Google and came up with a good supplier hit for the 939 control box, I purchased one for my 936A2 wrecker and it works flawlessly so far... I can't test the voltage regulator yet since I haven't gotten it started.
Southern Automotive Wholesalers Inc...
Can anyone with a M939A2 truck look at the driver's side of the engine and tell me what is missing from these pictures besides the Air Compressor/Power Steering pump?
Specifically, there are two coolant locations that are disconnected and I'm not sure what goes there...
Thanks,
Joe
Does anyone know where I can find a steering box for my 936A2? Looking at the TM, the steering box was changed from the A1 truck to the A2 truck.
Thanks,
Joe
Well, I have won the auction so I can now talk about it.
I just won the M936A2 at Ft Jackson so we have another A2 in the family so add me to the A2 parts locator e-mails please... :D
Here's a link to the pics...
Staging area for M936A2 near Ft Jackson
I won a M936A2 and might need someone to hold onto it for me for a week or so while I arrange shipping if I get it. It's a non runner so it would need a tow.
Can anyone help?
Thanks,
Joe
Anyone have any advice/input on the relative drawbacks/advantages between the two?
If it helps, the 816 runs and drives and the 936 is a project... I'm having some difficulty deciding if I want to modernize or not.
Later,
Joe
This isn't a complaint or a 'need to do now' thing, but is there any way we can get the PM limit upped to 100 posts per box like the old site or is that something that is not possible in the new software?
Apologies if this was in the works.
Thanks,
Joe
Can someone with an expando van tell me what the internal dimensions of the box are in both closed and open configurations? It needs to include the roof drop (if any) on the sides.
Thanks,
Joe
I'd like to start by saying that this came about from majortom's post in another thread about his modifications to his M543A2. I would like to hear some stories about the strengths and weaknesses of the military wreckers if anyone has them, and suggestions on how to overcome some of those...
I was dropping off a trailer at the scrapper today and found this hiding in the back of the lot. It apparently is owned by the owner's brother and he's not interested in selling it. They used to have three, but they sold two of them to one of the mining operations around here. Another...
My speedometer adapter failed on the way to the Memorial Day parade in Denver. I finally got around to pulling it off and looking at it today, the adapter itself fell apart, separating from the transfer case. Does anyone know if you can put it back together or should I start hunting for a new...
Out of the three 1009s that I bought, none of them have a good headlight harness in them. They have all been butchered for the sockets.
If anyone has a spare headlight harness for a CUCV, I'd appreciate it if you'd drop me a line. I could also use a second one since I've got to convert my...
My new gasser has 6 year old fuel/rust/dirt sludge in the bottom of the tank (about 1/4 in thick or thicker under the filler). Should I try to have it cleaned or just get another tank? Are the gasser and multi tanks even the same?
Thanks,
Joe
I have an SF97 that has a mistake on the VIN... It is one digit off. Is there any easy way to get this fixed?
For some reason, they copied the VIN as the Reg #, year, and serial # in one long string. The VIN on the SF97 is:
N100ZE72C124#####
and it should be
NL00ZE72C124#####
In order to get...
I have to get my two 5-tons (816 and 818) emissions soon and to do that I need to disengage the front axle since they have to put it on the dyno. Is there any sure way to do that other than removing the front driveshaft?
Thanks,
Joe
