    ....wood ammo box

...absolutely... Yep...real sure. This type wood box is shown in Dolf's book on the .50 BMG....the 4th book in his series on the Browning's. Been shooting all the belt fed Browning's for over 30 yrs but had never seen this early box before this. Made some for my own use and was trying to post a...

    ....wood ammo box

Can anyone advise what may have been the first 'gun-truck'...? I'm thinking about the WW2 M16 half track with the quad mount (M45) for 4-.50 BMG's. However,I found an original...what I believe to be the first of it's type....wood .50 BMG ammo box that has an opening in the front to feed the...

    Ropkey's Armor Museum-22-23 Sep

Have not seen anything about the IN MVPA State meet at Ropkey's Armor Museum in Crawfordsville,IN 22-23 Sep. Hope to be there with several WW1 Machine gun carts that have been 'restored' as best I can with as much original period equipment as I could find. Contact info online at Ropkey's site...

    1917 Machine Gun Cart,Ammo Cart,Spare...

7th. Cart in residence.... Just some eye candy for those of us who honor our WW1 Vets and wish to keep their sacrifice's alive with living history. Picked up a 'prototype' ammo cart that was configured after WW1 to carry more ammo in 1200 rd. crates. Left it as-is from a gentleman who restored...

Bought a Deuce but engine will not start.

...just to get it home... Might also think about placing a cheap, external, electric fuel pump from the tank to the injector pump. Sounds like no fuel is getting there. Another option....use another m35 to tow it home with a tow bar. Good luck....

    Opinions everyone

...depends... It's nice to be able to point to a totally restored MV and say that you have the good fortune to be independently wealthy. But that is usually not the case. Most of us buy an MV and use it ...sometimes as a daily driver. If you use your truck in business or just transportation a...

Two Half-tracks For Sale (NOT by auction)

side note... My M172A1 25-ton trailer...long enough for 2-tracks...requires a wide load permit as it is 9'7" wide. Picked up my 1943 White M16 track in WI with it in Nov 2010.

    To swap or repair...?

Faced with a difficult decision and turning to cooler heads for direction. My 1973 M35 Kaiser duce has a rear head gasket leak. 30 yrs. ago I'd have jumped right in to repair it and spend night and day to do so. Well....my duce sits in front of my ammo shop in South Bend...sort of a land mark. I...

    Rubber track install

....why...? Speaking from bitter experience....why did you opt for rubber tracks...? In my experience, putting rubber pads on the existing steel tracks would have been cheaper, easier to assemble and maintain. And they are legal for road use...at least in most mid-west states. I do have an...

    1917 Carts for Indy....

....for clarity.. Just for clarity, there were three (3) Army 1917 Carts. First pic's are of the Gun Cart. Next is the Ammunition Cart. Last, the Spare Gun Cart. Yeah...the rubber wheels are not correct...but the wood wheels are being completed as I write this and should be painted and on the...

    1917 Carts for Indy....

Finally...the carts are ready for their first showing. It is fitting that they will be displayed at the Indianapolis 500 Race Track during the Armed Forces Day event this week end ...19-20 May. The Indiana National Guard,I believe, wants to present, as best they can,the history of how our...

    Stacking trailers for travel

....M105's Towed (2) M105 trailers that were stacked over 350 mi. with no problems. Did it twice. Used heavy-duty canvas straps and chains. Used the stakes in the pockets to keep 'em from moving around. It's safe and secure.

    Armed Forces Day display...

...forgot to add... The Indy 500 time trials are being held at the same time as this event,so there will be many vendor's and plenty of other things going on at the same time. Was just advised by Greg that if you display a vehicle, you will get a pass for the event and a couple meal tickets...

    British Vehicle mechanic

....maybe 'hear-say'....? From what I have read, first models were called "Trojan" but were later changed to Bulldog. Mine is an early model....with the RR 8 cyl. engine/gas. However,I was advised that the Bulldog name would be appropriate for even the early models. Wish mine was a diesel....!!!
