The deadbolt mod to the drivers door has all but eliminated worries for me. With a hardtop, it would force them to start breaking that thick military door glass. I keep it in first low to make it harder to tow away. And I do keep the steering wheel chained, mostly for liability reasons, to show...
same for my kit. has a timer set for 90 seconds, but takes only 45 sec. to a minute. Most of that time I suppose is filling the huge oil filters that came with Ethan's kit. Good find on the pump!
OK the genset is not military, but it's on a military truck.
so.. The location of the oil drain plug on the engine is such that it makes a giant mess on the generator deck when removed. The generator engine has an aliminum block. The manufacturer sent me a pipe with metric threads on one end...
Yes, Jwaller's injection sytem - he knows alot about this stuff and can sell a kit. EGT is my enemy and it appears to be what is limiting the available power.

by way of enticement..
but I have military duty. It is generally in the weekend of the third sunday of the month. no go for me.
Is there any bolt-on model capable of more than 60 amps? Like 200A or 300A? i see DC generators for aircraft that have those ratings and are not much bigger. They are spline drive. It could be an issue of the belts and pulleys being able to take it.
Nice setup! I'd like a hardtop mount, and figure a way to hang a Lahti L39 on it. Only a little heavier than the M2, perhaps different balance.. the hardtop and mount can as usual be bought at the Hotel Costa-Plenti.
is it a ripoff? not really, considering the cost to manufacture small runs and the precision and quality necessary. Consider the super single rims at $250 each. What does an 18-wheeler rim cost? It's about the same thing in many ways. plus, some of our 'vendors' of these extra goodies keep costs...
To the original post, what this resolved?
Or, please check these items;
1.) suppy air pressure to the servo valve (the steering link unit), and it should be at least 60, but in fact will be more like 120PSI, or whatever yout truck runs at, if the air-o-matic safety valve is in order.
2...
Oh I'm sure David's having an adventure by its very defintion. The thing that makes life worth living. He is back in Dallas, fixin' to go get the busted truck. I could not get off work. If I was not working the next day or so I would have been able to go assist. Would have been fun, since I have...
"DAM88" David Matt's M1028 sems to have busted a timing chain. It is (was) towing an empty M149 water trailer.
He asked me to post, and ask for assistance.
The location is highway 71, right off of 220, the bypass of of I-20 N of Shreveport.
Can anyone help? David is a good friend of mine...
Do you have any manufacturer data on those kind of units? It would be simpler to put something together for 60Hz output only.
The simple trick would be to rectify the 120VAC to +/-DCV and make the 60Hz with a PWM stage, which is how most of those work. Some go another step and use power factor...
