I've been looking at this for 4-5 years now.. ever since the first time I drove the deuce from Dallas to Austin in July. These are my opinions on ths 'problem'.
First, I'd like to comment about the ice chest and fan combo. The amount of cooling needed for a space is expressed in BTU per hour...
yeah i'd say 450-550 if the running gear and wiring is also OK. The radio mount and other tidbits are worth a few extra bucks.
Note I will never again complain that my comand post is cramped.
The gun ring idea is great. I might be able to cut down a telescoping mast and fit the last coiple sections in there. The dome might be able to mount on a plate off center at the top of the mast so it rests on the hardtop when stowed.
The 9 meter mast - - I wonder how it would fit to an S-280...
naw.. close is 3" and beside the limo. Then you can step out onto the hood.
spkn if which, I had to enter a parking lot to get diesel te other day, and the whole thing was jammed up with a bunch of idiots waxing their cars cleaning their wheels and and drinking and listening to rap...
Watch the date codes of those magnesium batteries. They can go bad and sometimes split open and /or rot. i'd check the ones in the radios and remove them for any storage so to be on the safe side. I notice the books are for PRC-77's. Is that what is there, or, PRC-25's?
Fortunately there are...
And I will find a way to get it recorded in hi def 3D with 5.1 surround if I can watch. And open the door of the truck after..
It would be like Captain Kirk getting buried in dead tribbles.
Lot of fun this is. I did not expect so much interest and good suggestions, and also fellow RADAR operators.
I like the door openers. They are fun and will also set off people's radar detectors, making it even funner. In days past I sent video across the shop with one and used a hacked (disable...
I picked up a Raytheon radar unit with an 18.5" radome. I would ike to mount this on the truck pictured below, but not on top of the box due to clearance issues, the truck is almost 13FT tall with the shelter..
I was thinking about a telescoping mast mounted behind the cab, but as far as I...
OD Iron has 1-piece tubeless rims for those tires. There is also another vendor, forget whom. There was discussion about the ballooning of the tires on the stock rims, one guy said he ran them offroad for mudding but didn't think much of trying this onthe highway.
On mine the mushroom is held on by a hose clamp. Pulling it off would not be so easy since the clamp cannot pass through the side cover. I like the throttle body idea, if one has to have a choke method. Need a big TG for that. Plus, with 14PSI on it, would take some doing to shut it. Would a...
Mihe puffs a little oil vapor there when hot and idling.. will make a mess on the highway. it's not anything unusual on these. I consume about 1 quart per 1000 miles, most of that is from a small leak at the ront of the engine.
haha too bad my M35 has an S-280 on it.. no way to pile out of that in a hurry except 5 FT to the deck..
BTW who drives?
I might be out of town on a prior commitment (some biz in los alamos), not sure yet. Why do cool things happen all at the same time?
I have the same kind, maybe a little longer. I removed the original air horn set and plumbed the used one right in, mounted it with angle irons and screws. It works well to inform others of the errors of their ways. much manlier than the beeping horn the vehicle came with. The only problem is it...
I'm for the more independent ways. A guy's gotta be able to do stuff his self.
A hoist with a swing set type seat to sit on, then send the hook back down for the chair.. than might work. Oversize it like 2500# so it is safe, and use non metallic synthetic rope. Should be some riggers or wrights...
