n00b questions... looking to get an M1009

I drive my 1009 blazer about 170 miles a day and generally run 70 mph on the interstate. Every now and then I'll crank her up to 75 for a while. Just this morning I had to run 85 for a bit to rid myself of one of those dudes that just can't seem to hold a consistent speed. 70 one minuite, 60...

    Top speed of M35A3?

The one I played with ran an indicated 52 mph on flat ground.

towing a deuce with a tow bar

5 tons track a whole lot better than deuces while flat towing. And yes, you can pull one with a smaller truck. The usual cautions apply, but with much greater force!

Me too. If the prices were to become a little more reasonable, I'd seriously consider picking one up. How soon do you think that's gonna happen?

    Free trailer.

Just don't drive a forklift off the front of it. *tee-hee!*

Sheesh! A guy takes a nap in a gutter, and they start declaring you this and that... Sorry for the delay, gang.

He he. You need to tie some strings to those "troops" and have a little fun with the crowd.

Actually, half of the trucks in that pic belong to one guy. But he is about 1200 miles away from them. ;) And unless I'm mistaken, he is married. Anyways, wimmin generally don't understand this sort of thing. But you ask a lady how many pairs of shoes she has, and whooooaaaah!

I'll see what I can do. The truck might be gone by the time I get back out there!

Nope. That one keeps going to the back burner for stuff with quicker turn-around times. This one just rolled off the transporter. Notice how tight the winch chain is? Yeah, the cable is jacked up.

In my experience, a rubber mat will hold moisture on the floor and rust it out. Bad juju in my book. Of course, it might cut down on some of the noise.

I know a bunch of folks hate 'em, but here are a few pics for the rest of you. Prepping one for paint, and I haven't even driven it yet. (Oh, and noooo it's not mine!)

Just thought I'd share. I haven't seen a lot of tippers with the cargo cover in place.

The tanker did indeed have a groovy surprise for you, Steve. (Man, shoulda held that pic back  ) Mr. 726 is currently on the road heading in a generally westerly direction. How long has it been sitting here? I know it was september, but what year? *chortle* Well, the place was a coal...

    Columbus deuce's

I get out there on occasion. There's a 6.2 motor that I need to pick up pretty soon, and my pops just pulled the trigger on his first gl deuce. That one will be a while, though. I have access to a nice big lot to store your new "investment" too, but you can't hide it from her forever.

    What have I done?

Looks nice. Think good thoughts on the drive home, and you should be ok.

Let's see, the 1009 and 715 are mine, the 726 and 275 are kwai's, the m35 is mine, the tanker is kwai's, and the m200 is mine. There are a few other pieces that belong to me, but they're hulks and I didn't want to drag them out just for pics. Once I get the go-ahead, that hill will be mine...
