I am thinking maybe I need to be checked for Alzheimer's because I can not remember a long post but I remember the Girls in Vegas 40 years ago. Good thing what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas and a rear winch is a good thing. Sometimes it is better to get pulled out the way you came in if the...
Well checking the fuel control for moving freely is what we want. Now that your FDC is bypass it's just like turning up the fuel and should be very responsive. Get a Pyro installed as you might be able to go more or might need to come down.
Never said to loose a PTO for electric I love my PTO winch's and stand by them. A good Hooker will not lower her price as there is always a John waiting. Yes I miss read, you said PTO seals I was thinking Winch seals. PTO seal leaking just replace them or rebuild the PTO before you install it if...
If your truck came with a PTO winch you will most likely stand by it like a good hooker stands by her prices. If it did not go with electric.
Deuce PTO winch can carry a lot of line if you have to double / triple out. The Sherpa says it only carries 105 feet. If you have to double out you...
Just had same problem on another thread and it was the fuel control assembly binding up. Take off the shut down cover and make sure the fuel control assembly that is screwed into the Head move very easy. You can even run the motor with the shut down cover off and shut it down with your finger by...
I have only found one cv axle on a 60's era Deuce axle and the data tag on axle said Rockwell over Timken. All other axles I have found were from the 70's and say Rockwell over Rockwell. Check your data tag and let's see what is says but I bet 5 bucks your 5 ton is u joint. I have never seen a...
It's real simple if your axles are the old CV ball type the you would remove the two plugs and pump in grease till it comes out the other hole. New style axles with modern type U joints the grease will never make it into the needle bearings. Looks like you have a 1970 813 and I will bet that you...
What are you trying to grease when you put four pounds of grease into the knuckle? Do you have Timken ball type axles?
If because it says so in the TM's then that TM was never up dated when the axles got switched to the cross style joints.
The old Timken ball type needed grease. Where you want...
OK guys what is going on here? You are getting the hard part replacing O rings and getting the Head back in correct but messing up on the easy part. Making sure the fuel control rod moves free and correct.
20 minute job replaced both spring brake pancakes. They were not bad yet but better to know they a fresh than have one lock up on the road, Took trailer to other property and came home.
If the FDC is bypassed then the droop screw would be the same as the main fuel / twin nut adjustment. It would be easer to do the main fuel adjustment because the piston in the FDC is no longer moving. If the IP had no droop screw but had a smoke cam adjustment it would be the same effect...
Glad you found it and it was simple. Do believe you removed the fuel control not the plunger and yep you can check for a sticking plunger sleeve with a screw driver. That is why before we install any head we turn it up side down and watch the plunger sleeve move freely on it own till it hits the...
