Hey guys, as some of you know I'm down at Fort Hood visiting with my brother. I'm seeing lots of great stuff so I'm going to post my pictures here. This may take me a few days to do with my trip schedule so please bear with me. I'm also going back to the base Wednesday and may be able to get...

LDS VS LDT and the real differences

FYI, this was the Army's idea of an endurance test for the LD/LDT-465. They were run at 2600rpm for up to 2 hours at a time with one hour periods of idle in between.

    6x6 help

Sorry bud, old deuces don't have 6x6 switches, front wheel drive is activated by a sprag clutch within the transfer case when slippage in the rear occurs. They can be temperamental and/or require linkage adjustment, or just be plain worn out. Download the technical manuals and search the...

Reviving the 83 ford with LDS 5 ton drive line

This just gets better and better! Calling cranetruck.... Are the fuel filters the same on the xm757 engine? I saw from his posts that the filter canisters are different, top loaded, etc. Lets help Kayne get this thing runnin! :D

Reviving the 83 ford with LDS 5 ton drive line

nk14zp may be on to something. I think I can make out a fuel cut-off solenoid beside the hydraulic head. Those solenoids were not used on deuces correct? Also, I can only make out one secondary fuel filter, did the xm757s have a third/final filter? The oil cooler also looks different to me...

Reviving the 83 ford with LDS 5 ton drive line

I made it a little easier to see under the side view of the hood. I would love to see and hear some video of this thing rolling down the road!

My 109 does not blow much smoke, its turbo'd and the air filter is clean. I haven't made any fuel modifications after getting it from GL.

    Death of a Multifuel

There's not many multifuel engines around on the ME/NH border, I personally don't know of any either. Seems the closest bone yards are in NY, if it happened to me most likely I'd be driving 6 or more hours out to get it, or ship one in by freight. Another thought, I believe the Eastern Surplus...

Satellite photos of your (or other) MV's

I just found this great view on Google Maps of the compound taken just a couple months ago, I think I'm actually sitting on the tractor spreading new gravel on the driveway! You can clearly see the M109A3 parked beside the garden, the M105A2 is parked in the tall grass behind the barn.
