Kublos is on his way, but it would take four hours to get there. Saturn Surplus would be a quicker bet. (43 miles). Their number is 717-692-9500.

Just one observation to consider, the Tractor Supply Traveler brand SAE90/GL-1 (AKA Ford Tractor Transmission Fluid) has the same viscosity as 40wt motor oil.
The Napa Brand SAE90/GL-1 is considerably thicker, at the top of the 90wt spectrum and just a tad thicker than 50wt.
Mission accomplished! It was about 225 miles round trip.
After waiting for the rain to let up I had a nice leisurely and dry ride down Saturday morning. My only complaint was those darn 3 or four lane changes around Manchester where 101, 293, and 93 all come together and diverge again. Going...
I just want to give a heads up to the Southern NH members I'll be crossing their border with my 109 for the first time on Saturday. I'm picking up a farm tractor I bought in New Boston. I'll be towing an equipment trailer that I did a 12 volt light and brake controller conversion for just for...
Was just wondering if everyone's belt/compressor makes a little noise when its building pressure. I tightened the belt to the prescribed measure of deflection when I had the radiator off, but I've had to tighten it some more to quiet it down some. I'm using a NAPA belt.
Got mine from GL at Ft. Campbell in Tennessee where my brother was. Its been a lot of work, both time and money to fix her up, but I've enjoyed the experience. I paid $1700 initially, its probably triple that now.
Yup, not Chinese, made by these guys in the USA: Chain, Chains, Chain Manufacturer, Chain Manufacturers | Peerless Industrial Group
Looks like this particular chain normally goes for $5-$6 a foot in bulk, it must be good stuff!
Yep, Mardens! The same stores our current state governor managed before taking office. Its kind of like a "Big Lots" store, there's lots of chinese junk, etc. but sometimes you can get lucky if they've salvaged inventory from a closed business. These chains were made in the Good ol' USA...
This was at the local 'Surplus and Salvage' place. Their jingle is "I Shoulda' Bought it When I Saw It!." Mainers will know what I'm talking about.
I got the last 29 feet in the barrel for $1.59 per foot.
Be careful when 6-point socket wrenching on the nuts, the brass fitting might pop off as its just staked into the steel mounting bracket. I had a few fittings where I removed the bracket from the axle and stuck the fitting in a vice so I could get the leverage to remove the nuts. If you go...
:ditto: I've read the argument that the bolts is a good reason to buy a parts truck, but I sure wouldn't want to have bought my truck for the bolts! I've had to cut off too many to count because the rusty threads stripped. The threads on the bumper bolts I've removed were all mangled too.
I...
I use my judgement, I try to use the original bolt type but sometimes you can't find or wait for an order of grade 8 fine threaded bolts. What ticks me off about rusty fine threaded bolts is the threads can break and the bolt just spins in place. Good if you want to keep the part together, bad...
The docs I've read say the 39MT starters spin up to 30% faster then direct drives, it does seem to wind up faster the longer you hold down the starter button. I can give you good winter test results in about 6 months or so...
Hey guys, here's some pics and video from my install of this same starter. Prior to ordering the starter I PM'd JerseyJeep to see if he was still happy with his and he was. My last starter (NOS) was a lemon, it had signs of water damage and I replaced the solenoid last summer. This time it...
