I forgot to mention that afternoon Ellie was sitting backwards on a chair making "VROOM! VROOM!" noises. My wife asked what she was doing and Ellie replied "I'm Driving the Truck!" :driver:
My in-laws were up this weekend and my SIL and three-year-old niece "Ellie" hadn't driven in the deuce yet so I took them for a quick ride around our field and the neighborhood. My FIL snapped these pictures.
Ellie had a great time, she especially liked the high-up view she got from the cab...
LOL, I read this post as I was digging a fork into a paper chinese-food-take-out-container of pork-fried-rice!
No rush on my end, but a big Thank You to Kenny for seeing this group-buy through to completion!
Thanks Danl, I'm familiar with the location but not the company HP Fairfield, looks like they've got some interesting stuff!
I'm doing the 24 to 12 volt conversion tho so I can borrow my neighbor's equipment trailer and rent the towable articulating boom lifts from Handyman Equipment Rental in...
Hey guys, I'm trying out these cheap ebay ($17) 5 amp 24V-to-12V transformers inline for each hot 12V trailer wire. I think its a little less complicated than wiring in relays and the price point is competitive when you consider purchasing relay bases, makeing a box for the relays, extra wires...
I second Mears, Luigi's Italian Restaurant in Lawton is pretty good too. Welcome to SS!
I too have seen pictures of that rig somewhere, I don't think it was ebay tho. This was awhile ago.
I keep the worn tires in back that I wouldn't trust as steering tires, so I like to keep a good steering tire in the spare tire carrier in case one in front goes. As for extra fuel I just take along jerry cans and a siphon hose when I think I'll need the fuel. Its easy to stand a jerry can on...
What primer did you use? The color of the primer will affect the overall tint of the sample. Example, for most accurate results use a red oxide primer with 24087.
Just went through that a couple months ago. Drill a hole in the key, thread the hole with a tap and T wrench, screw in a long bolt with a washer, bang on the bolt head and washer with a hammer and punch.
Oh yeah, you can buy the new key stock at Napa. Cut and grind it to fit.
Thanks for posting these pictures, you guys out East definitely make some rugged military equipment! If cost, distance, and parts availablity weren't a limiting factor I'd be tempted to purchase and restore a surplus Ural truck.
Meh. Why worry about the tires when you can still roll on a perfectly good rim?
I took this photo last October at the Newport, Maine McDonald's parking lot. I also like the owner's system for securing the tarp.
You'll need to unbolt and flip every component: headlights, blackout light, electric horn if you have one, and the rectangular plates. Chances are you'll need to replace the 12 rubber vibration dampening bolts that holds on the plates. When you go to re-bolt the plate you'll need to use the...
I suspect you might have other problems not directly related to the WMO. If you've never drained and cleaned the tank and pump there's probably algae sludge and floaties in there larger then 25,000 microns (25mm). Where algae comes into contact with water at the bottom of the tank the algae...
Not using anything with a bowl but with westfolk's primary kit I use a Baldwin BF1259, 12 is the absolute micron rating. 500 miles so far so good with waste oils mixed in. Its a tall filter, 9.5 inches, so theoretically it'll take longer to clog but I'll probably change it annually. I like...
Welcome to SS. I'm slowly doing the same thing, I plan to drive my 109 up to the North Maine Woods when its ready. There's not many 109 boxes in the state, I only know of two including mine and one rusty one in NH. Unfortunately, you just missed the local rally...
