I finally got my starter rebuilt and re-installed in my FLU. I had it rebuilt by Sleepy Hollow Rebuilders (SWR) in Cumming, Georgia for $125.00 . They did an excellent job. It looks brand new and functions perfectly. I supplied an NOS solenoid I found on Ebay, although they had a new one...
Since you don't know what is in the systems, I would recommend flushing both the clutch and brake systems thoroughly and replacing with DOT 5 as Speedwoble suggested. DOT 5 and DOT 3 or DOT 4 are not compatible to mix. DOT 5 is far superior. Don't use DOT 5.1 as it is totally different from...
I'm assuming that you know for a fact that the new starter is a good one? You can take it to a starter shop and have it tested. As suggested above, check/replace the cables, but also check the batteries. I had something similar happen once and one of the batteries burned one of the post...
Does anyone know the purpose of this patch cord on the drivers side loader arm? I'm assuming here that it is a patch cord. It's interesting that it is stored out in the weather.
When I was in the Army 1970-71, guys that were repainting vehicles with the green semi-gloss always tried to sneak in some diesel fuel into the paint before spraying. It was totally against the regs because it made the paint shine really good. However, I am NOT recommending anyone add diesel...
Clint,
Why not ask
Clint,
Why not ask for people to confirm that they are coming and to commit to paying the fee for the good site you found. If enough people confirm they will attend and you reserve the location, then ask everyone coming to pay ahead of time so that you don't get stuck with...
I found a photo on the internet that shows the vent line coming from the power steering reservoir connecting to the vent line on the timing cover. I'm not sure why they connected these two, but it is obvious that they did.
I have to disagree. I have purchased both vehicles and parts from Eastern. In all cases they were very easy to work with and accepted lower offers from me from prices that were already reasonable.
Check the voltage going to the gauge and make sure it is 24 VDC. It's a very simple circuit. 24 VDC goes into the gauge on one side and the wire coming out the other connector on the gauge goes directly to the sensor. Make sure the connections are good. If everything looks good, I would go...
Does anyone know for certain where the vent line from the top of the power steering reservoir on a FLU419 is supposed to connect? As you can see from the photos, the vent line from the top of the PS reservoir (red arrow) goes up and across the front of the engine and down the other side. At...
Mine really puts out the oil, so I think you will probably be OK with the longer bar. One nice thing about a longer bar is that the chain is obviously longer and stays sharper longer since there are more teeth. You are correct about the hand guard. I was looking at the saw upside down in the...
On my M35A3, the trans temp barely leaves the 100 deg mark, even when idling for a long period. I live in the mountains and when I'm pulling a very heavy load in the truck and trailer in the summer with the temp in the 90s, the trans temp will increase to around 180 - 190, but it never goes...
I like the longer bar you have. I noticed that your saw doesn't have a bucking cleat installed. Did it come with one? I also noticed that the civilian model of the CS06 saw doesn't have the long flat spike piece mounted under the bucking cleat. Apparently, that was only put on the military...
As Speedwoble suggests, check the output directly at the compressor before you do anything else. If the compressor has failed, there is no need to check for leaks, etc.
I didn't use a screwdriver, but no, the solenoid still clicked and chattered . I finally got the starter out. What a bear that was. The three nuts holding the starter on must have been torqued to 100 ft-lb! I had to use a crow foot socket to access them and a large breaker bar to break them...
The Stanley saw in my FLU419 is a Model CS06120M, S/N 1289M. The bar that came on the chainsaw was an Oregon 30959 GA 160ATSA195, P/N 09588. According to Oregon, they have no records regarding Oregon manufacturing this particular bar even though it has an Oregon logo printed on the side in...
I decided to go ahead and pull the whole starter. I've already removed most of the wiring, but it got dark on me. I still have to remove the wires on the solenoid that are fastened with a screw, which is extremely tight. I could not loosen the screw with the starter in place, so I'll remove...
