Much would depend on the type of S hitting the fan. Bugging out to your BOL, or just getting away from the coast in case of a hurricane? A bobber provides much more maneuverability in case you should need it, not to mention that mine can now live in the driveway instead of in storage. There can...
Same here (but shorter). I took the foam out but used a couple of layers of foam sleeping pad to it. Did this as a temp fix and it's still there two years later. I think I duct taped it on. Don't cut off the seat back if it's a spring seat though as I imagine it'd be painful.
I know a couple of people who MIGHT have parts for that thing. They're not on SS and aren't commercial, so let me know by PM if you're looking for something and I'll hook you up.
Don't worry about the heat. Drove my first (heater-less) one home from Colorado to Central Texas in the winter, snow on the road, and a soft top that'd rip when you looked at it wrong. Think of the floor as a giant heat sink, and don't put mats on it. You'll be plenty warm in about an hour.
Have...
Heath is right about this, but I'll give you the big secret I learned over the years: Don't go in the front door, but into the shop. Dress like you belong there (no ties or button down shirts!), and ask the first guy you meet about talking to them aboutgetting a small piece or two of drops...
Are you being literal here? If so, I have a tremor and found the recip saw is my friend, and the cutting torch setup is now on Craigslist. (My wife says I should sell it before I REALLY hurt myself!) If you're not being literal, oops!
This picture is exactly what I was wondering about. What are the consequences to the bearings (or any other parts that I'm unaware of) in mounting it with hubs in, wheel dish out? I'm running 11-20R Michelins and will likely continue with these.
I did my bob about the same length as yours. I just gave them the measurements the way they said to, and they lenthened it by about 13". Only 65-70 miles so far, but so far, so good. I had Inland Truck Parts Company do it, and it cost $191.00.
Yeah, I did notice you did that thing alone. Outstanding work! Badga (who's 16) did most of the first half due to an injury I have, but I caught up with that pup in putting it back together. When I forget all the problems maybe we'll do one for him!
I'm getting ready to put the bed on mine and I don't wanna' admit how long it took me! I just wrote that you made it look easy, not that it was! Great Job!
Thanks, Booger. I like that and it brings the bed a bit higher in the process. Didn't that make it easier to align everything, by aligning the top and bottom seperately?
