Sorry to beat a dead horse, but I'm a little confused and not a chemist. The LO indicates that GO should go into the transmission, t-case, and diffs (80/90 weight). There is no mention of GL-1 etc that I could find, only specifications at the back of the manual. Specifically, MIL-L-2105. I...
Took my truck out for an extended drive today. One hour at 45 to 50 mph the temp gauge never got over 165. Think the gauge or sender is bad? Or maybe the thermostat is screwy? Truck has a brand new radiator and I've never gotten it over this temp. Any advice?
My wife and I went over to the submarine museum in St. Marys Georgia earlier in the summer. Very cool museum (even though I'm an army guy). Anyway, on the way back, we saw this from far off. Is it a LARC? Lighter Amphibious Resupply Cargo. Thought some might find it interesting.

I've been trying to resolve my poor idle at startup. Today I pulled the tank to clean it and check the pump to make sure it wasn't plugged or something. Lots of crap in the tank including the bottom of the pump! Actually, several pump bottoms! I'm assuming that plate isn't absolutely...
It is planed. I knew a tom Bauer in the army--he also lived in maryland I thought. You wouldn't have served in the army during the eighties would you? With the 82nd airborne division?
I recently went to Michelin tires so I have 4 excess to my needs 9.00 NDCCs. They are in good condition with servicable tubes and flaps. I am in Gainesville, FL. If anyone could use these, they are free. No shipping though. If this is a no-no for the site, I apologize, however, I've seen...
Kenny et al.,
You may have been right about that port. I checked the push rod for the pedal assembly and it was extended very far. According to the manuals (acetomato will like that), the free play should be between 1/4 and 1/2 inch. Mine had none! I backed out the push rod over 1 inch to...
Popop, Kenny, Where is the return hole (compensating port) you speak of. Do I need to pull the master cylinder or is this an adjustment of the push rod? Thanks.
Steve
Sermis,
I think the master is okay because after bleeding the pedal is perfect--about 2 inches of depression before brake engagement. However, after charging the system with air, it pushes back again. I drove it after bleeding and it's working okay now. But, the pedal is sure near the top and...
Opened the trailer line--no air. Opened the bleeder valve on the airpack and fluid streamed out--I could hear the brakes releasing at the same time. I guess my air pack is toast. Are these difficult to rebuild. The one on there looks brand new.
I drove the duece to work today. On the way back home, I noticed that brake pedal was hard as a rock--no give at all! Even the brake lights were permanently engaged! I released the pressure from my air tanks and it's the same! What gives? Rubber hoses seem to be intact with no depressions...
RE: Re: RE: Installed Michelin tires
Last time I drove a full deuce was at Ft. Sill in 1982! I think the exhausts all exited above the tandem (is that the earlier diesel engine--427?). Anyway, I bought this one cut down by Dave Newman at Eastern Surplus. It drives great on the road. Very...
Finally got the XLs mounted and installed. I know many have these and larger too, but I was excited to change the NDCCs out. These are HEAVY! Those with 1100s on bobbed dueces, what tire pressure do you maintain? I have 65 up front and 40 in back. Front wandered a little which it didn't do...
