Headwizard,
Keep us informed. My did it again tonight. I had to goose the throttle twice and it ran perfect after that. All fuel filters are new, tank was drained completely and replaced with fresh diesel. No smoke whatsoever unless you hit the accelerator, then it's only a brief puff of...
Robert,
I'm in North Central Florida (Gainesville). If you need something done down this way and can't down, let me know. I'd be glad to help in any way I can.
Steve
Headwizard,
My duece was acting the same at startup. If you didn't goose the throttle it would rough rough at 400 rpm. I bled my fuel system and the problem went away. However, I started it this evening with the same problem again. I think I may have leakdown. Air is getting in somewhere...
dm51,
Thanks, but I found a local guy like bly indicated. He has everything already in his shop. I'm taking the tires over Monday to get em mounted.

I'd been experiencing crappy idle in my multi on start up, It took a few throttle gooses to get it to even out. It would nearly stall if you didn't hit the throttle. Anyway, several guys in the mess tent suggested it was air and bad fuel. I drained the fuel tank and I think it had varnish in...
Kenny,
Thanks. The compressor was getting worse. Dave sent me another unit and I'll try and put it on this weekend. Copper silicone huh? Is that the same thing as copper coat for head gaskets?
Seems to me that since the governement is buying like a gazillion of these things (anything they purchase is in bulk) that they should be paying LESS than the civies, right?! Just isn't logical.
Thanks for the compliments! The crane was part of a tree service. A guy climbed to the top of the tree, attached the crane's cable, they put upward tension on the cable, cut the tree at the bottom, lifted the tree and placed it gently near the road. Then they cut it up and hauled it away...
Masking took about 2 hours with my wife helping (she did the tires and wheels). Sanded (scratched) the entire cab. Just wanted it all one color honestly. However, the quality is surprising good in my opinion--especailly for a novice painter.
I painted my truck yesterday. The Florida heat nearly killed me! Wearing a respirator for 2-3 hours didn't help. Anyway, I'm pleased with how it turned out. Some before pics provided too. Cab alone (in and out) took 2 gallons.
When I bought my deuce from Dave at Eastern Surplus, he serviced the truck which included antifreeze change. Dave said he just uses green antifreeze, always has. You can see I'm a bit confused and concerned. Many of you are indicating that certain additives should be used to prevent...
How do I keep my deuce from being stolen out of my driveway? I have the chain and lock for the steering wheel, but that won't keep the curious kids on the block (or Jody) from firing her up. What do you guys do?
Steve
Crap I see it now on the other tags posted--the engine type that this. Sorry to have posted before looking more closely. Well, since I obviously can't read my data plate, is there another way to determine the engine type?
