Well I have had two 3053a trannys have the same problem. Is the fifth gear a common issuse with it.

The shaft was fine. I pulled the top cover off the trans and found one of the 5th gear gears is missing several teeth. That is the same thing that happened to my last trans. Is this a common problem or am I driving it wrong.

also when I push in the clutch it goes away. My first thought is the short drive shaft. I will check it again tomorrow.

I checked it today It seemed fine I will check it again. I would think if it was the shaft it would happen in all gears. But weird stuff happens.

In 5th gear only it seems, I am starting to hear a loud tapping from the transmission. I is loudest under hard throttle and when engine braking. Any ideas?

I solid mounted the stacks and the t pipe to the cab, but it all flexes right at the bottom back of the cab. I also have flex pipe under the cab to allow for engine flex. I have found that if I dont solid mount the stacks they will kinda flop in the wind so to say.
