RE: Re: RE: rebuilding a 6.2 for performance...
hmmwv headers SUCK, and WILL NOT EVER fit a cucv.
They are worse than a cast manifold as far as flow gows.
headers dont add much if anything to a diesel as far as power goes, might drop the egt's some but thats it.
jaytee you are correct.
you cant just hook one up to a spot on the engine, you need to get a tachometer that runs off the alternator and have it calibrated.
yes, you use a bar/large flat head screw driver to wedge on two of the bolts to use as leverage
an impact wrench makes short work of them pulling them out.
the dry silicone spray is supposed to be glow plug safe.
ether works the best if the glow plugs are not functioning at all, but you need to figure out why the gp's arent working and get it fixed. esp with winter coming fast.
For once I'm almost ready to leave. Almost...
Have to put the new turn signal box in the deuce, change the bad injector line (THANKS JWC, you saved me), and put the front driveshaft back in.
You need to go to a different alternator shop, its just putting fiber washers in a few places inside the alternator during assembly. This is not a "rare" thing for shops to do for equipment and trucks.
The third sensor that the new one doesnt have is the pressure sensor, its not used by the truck and was prone to leaking so the newer bases didnt have it.
Now that you have the new base installed, you need to do a complete air bleed procedure.
First disconnect the pink wire from the injector...
