Years ago I bought custom (any color jacket with my name stamped on it) 1/0 from an ebay seller coppercableman for a great price. He's still selling and he sells all sizes of welding cable up to 4/0. I would recommend checking him out. Might be handy to have your name stamped on your slave...
Phil and I made a big accomplishment today. We got the springs mounted on the bobber. Next step is to crank the bolts tighter and put the axle on. I got the u-bolts, shock mounts, top and bottom spring plates all cleaned up and painted. You'll see them after the axle gets mounted though :-D
I just found the kit. At $1600, it's a shocker, but boy do I like the idea of a tie-rod style steering as opposed to a conventional steering box. I may have to look into this a bit further.
I got the front axle off of my running deuce so I can sell it.
While I was there, I also got my front springs off for the bobbed deuce! What a PITA those rivets were though. The front spring hanger rivets were far more troublesome than the rear tandem rivets. Still need to get my shock...
I didn't get pictures yet, but we got the bumperettes bolted on tonight. I also didn't get a pic of the fuel tank and brackets being off of the truck because it was dark when I finally did that. I did, however, get the tool box and battery box off of the truck. It's unreal how tall the truck...
I'm in the process of bobbing right now and I'm going to use a set of front springs, mounts, and shocks off of my other deuce (I have one complete deuce and one parts deuce).
These are the mirrors on my '54 truck. It's a multifuel now, but it still has relics of the old style stuff such as the square inner fenders, lack of hole for turboed exhaust, mirrors, etc. These might be what you're looking for (minus the addition of the convex clamp on mirrors).
