    7.3 powerstroke/t444e bobbed deuce

I like the 7.3, and when I start hunting for a personal pickup truck, I'm going to hunt exclusively for a Ford with a 7.3 in it. I see no issues with putting a 7.3 in the deuce, but you may want to consider a different transmission if using the one you have chosen will be pretty difficult to...

So I was sitting at a red light...

WM, if you haven't seen it yet, you need to watch the movie "Idiocracy." It's a movie based on the premise you just provided.

11/12/11 - Breakfast in Eldersburg, MD - 1 yr anniversary

I'd be interested in an Aberdeen shirt and spot this year. By then I should have the bobber ready to go and a bunch of spare parts to sell. I might even have a tent setup in the back of the bobber then too! I decided to only take dayside leave tomorrow. That means I have to be at work at 5...

    Cutting frame on a bob

I cut my frame exactly 36" shorter from the rear and I also cut a 36" section of bed out of the middle and welded the two parts back together. 36" out of the stock bed makes the stake pockets line up with the proper spacing so you literally just lost one section of bed and it keeps everything...

    I started bobbing too

I haven't touched this truck in a while... But, since the last update Robert and Phil came over and we swapped motors with the other deuce. I blasted the entire exterior of my cab and today I was able to shoot some paint on it and the hood since the temps got up to 70. I still need to blast...

11/12/11 - Breakfast in Eldersburg, MD - 1 yr anniversary

I will probably be there! I've been busy with work, classes, and being out of town, but I'll take a day off to be there this time. Who knows what I'll drive.

    Having a fuel tank made

So it's not exactly the shape I'm looking for, but this might work... I saw a nice price on a nice aluminum round saddle tank from a freightliner road tractor. It's 24" diameter and 60" long. I want to say something like 110 gallons to boot. It's bigger than I really wanted, but since it's...

    M101 Lunette ring size

OK, I'll buy the plain jane pintle hook. 2-5/16" would have been my choice though since that's what most larger trailers use (either 2-5/16" ball or a pintle). I already have a 2" ball for that truck.

    M101 Lunette ring size

I'm going to be picking up a couple of 101's soon and was planning on using my Suburban for the recovery. If I were buying a plain old pintle hook, I've already discovered what size to buy and I've even discovered what height the trailer tongue should sit at. Since I still need to buy normal...

    Having a fuel tank made

    what are their dimensions?

    Having a fuel tank made

I've changed my mind on what shape I want the tank to be after doing a bit more precise measurements. I think I'm going to do a 13" tall, 13" deep, and 87" wide tank. It will still require two sheets of material, but it will be completely below the bed rails and still leave me just over 8' in...

    Having a fuel tank made

Stock tank doesn't let me put a full sheet of plywood in the bed. I stopped by a welder today and gave him dimensions of 55 wide, 24 tall, and 13 deep. He's going to work up prices on steel and aluminum. He also said he could modify a pre-built tank if that ends up being cheaper.

    Having a fuel tank made

I've looked at pre-made tanks. There's one tank that almost fits the dimensions I'm looking for, and it's made of aluminum, but it doesn't have all of the fittings I'd need. If I bought it, I'd still have to modify it to work. That tank plus shipping is upwards of $600. Ron, are you saying...

    Having a fuel tank made

What running board at the door? It's got nothing below the frame rails except axle now. The fenders are cut to the bottom of the cab and the cab is the first step from the ground. Fuel tank, tool box, and batteries are all going in the bed. It's a toy, not a daily driver. I was thinking...

    Having a fuel tank made

The tank is going to be in the bed up against the front wall so it's almost against the back of the cab. I'm not worried about a low line getting snagged since the line will never be lower than the frame rails and even when it's that low, it will be tucked inside the frame rail.

    Having a fuel tank made

For the bobber, I'm going to use a custom fuel tank in the bed. It will need to be made by a professional welder because I'm not that good. Should I have it made from aluminum or steel? This tank will require more metal than contained in a single 4x8 sheet of material, so I'm probably looking...

rear shock placement on bobbed deuce

If you use a deuce front suspension when you bob, the shock mounts and shocks from the deuce work perfectly.

I have one side of racks that the seats are made from aluminum.
