I reinstalled my bobbed bed using all 4 spring bolts on the front and solid mounted the rear bolts just like the stock setup. The bed and frame definitely move independently when the truck is on uneven terrain. I would use the spring bolts.
Didn't see the TM's for a MEP-004a at the top of the forum. Anyone have a link to download them?
Through someone at work that knew I was into military stuff, I picked up a MEP-004a with ASK on a trailer for $750 because he was about to scrap it and that's about what he would get scrapping it...
I won an ebay auction for a D198ER in Sacramento and I need to get it over here to Maryland. It's professionally packaged on a pallet and I can off-load a pallet here.
Let me know if anyone is making a run across the states in the two weeks that can bring it over, or at least close.
The bobber is ready except for the exhaust! barring something not hooked up correctly, I foresee being able to bring the bobber on Thursday. Here's a teaser (far from "done")
I wouldn't hesitate putting a 6BT into my bobber if I needed a new engine in it. If I had the liquid cash to do it now, I'd probably do it soon.
Lay aside that the 6BT is much ligher than the LDT and comes stock with more HP and torque than the LDT. The biggest draw to moving to the 6BT is...
delewarelister, I just bought some NOS brake hoses from you a little while ago. Might buy another set at Aberdeen if you bring them, just for future use.
Not bringing a 101 anymore. I sold the one and I'm keeping the other for my MEP-003 to go into. Not sure what deuce parts I'll have either. Whether my deuce makes it there is now up to whether my driveshaft gets done in time. It runs now though!
I used an identical T fitting on my rear axle as what is on the front axle. I believe I got that fitting from one of the three T's found on the rear axle setup (one T per axle and one T to the axles). The T you would use would be 5/16" in and 1/4" out on both sides. Anyways, since I used that...
I'm bringing a 101 to sell as well. I'll have various odds and ends from the deuce I parted out to bring as well. Let me know if you have anything specific and I'll see if I still have it.
Still have my spots for sale if anyone wants them.
If anyone still needs spots at Aberdeen, I have already paid Dudley for two spots end to end (so you can pull through with a trailer) but I will be unable to attend long enough to need my spaces. One or both of my spots are up for sale. Send me a PM if interested.
That being said, I'm pushing...
The 105 is pretty light when it's empty and it's well within the capabilities of a full size vehicle to tow safely unbraked. I've hauled them many times with this vehicle at speeds 65+ MPH and even had a few panic stops. I'm just showing off my newly built hitch with is far stronger than what...
