Lookie What Showed Up at Work Today...

He is NOT legal according to DOT. They require at least 4 separate tie downs on rolling stock. Running it through the eyes DOES NOT count as 2. Each tie down consists of one chain and one binder. Ask me how I know.....

    Marine trucks?

Mine was issued new to the Marines. Somewhere along the line, the Army got ahold of it, took off the winch, and put a new M923 dash plate on. Since they were nice enough to leave all the hydraulics on, I put another winch on, and still have to get a correct 925 tag. Came with air dryer, lockers...

    Rotten Murphy!!

I tried that, but the park brakes wouldn't release. And when I release the parking lever, the dropped and would not hold enough pressure to keep the park chambers from engaging. Thought about caging the brakes, but a 530 mile tow was a bit much at 25 mph. The truck got delivered this evening...

    M813a1 advantages over a m925?

The 925 is easier to drive, AND quieter (hood insulation and exhaust routed behind the cab). The cab sits higher making it a taller step to climb in. The body on the 800 series will last you longer, better quality steel used. The 925 is prone to some serious rust issues, especially the hood and...

    Custom Double Front Bumper.

My 2 cents..the "look" is kinda cool, but don't you think the deuce is hard enough to steer..WITHOUT adding more weight to the front axle??

    Rotten Murphy!!

Well.......left the LZ on Saturday to head north. About 100 miles up the road, the tranny on the 1009 took a crap! So early Sunday made the trip up in the 925 (sore butt). Arrived at GL in Fort Jackson about 0730. Fired up my latest acqusition with a jump, built up air, tranny engaged.....Life...

    Rotten Murphy!!

Yes, it's still at GL. 530 miles is a long drive in green iron. I like to leave myself some extra time, just for situations like this. Now I will be pressed to do it in one day, at 10 mph less top end. Got a Monday morning pickup appt, and have to be back here to work Tuesday AM.

    Rotten Murphy!!

Took off to Fort Jackson this afternoon in the 1009 loaded with tools/parts, to retrieve a 925. About 100 miles up the road, the tranny took a dump. No warning at all. Only thing I had was 1st gear and reverse. auaaua Got towed back to the yard (thank goodness for AAA Plus), and loaded...
