I was helping my father move this past weekend and on the way home I went over some rail road tracks. Right after that I started smelling coolent. I was not running hot so I went on the 3 miles home, water was pooring out I opened the hood and where the top hose goes on the radiator broke off...
I had some spare black bed liner paint and some flat black paint and was bored today, so I painted the nose of my truck with the bed liner and the grill black. I dont know where I seen another truck with a black nose but I liked it so I did mine the same. The black grill came from the tractor...
I would only replace the multi fuel it is came apart. But I hear nothing but good things about the old mechanical dt 466. It seems to have reasonable power and easy to work on. Im sure it could run on oil if heated.
What would it take to put a international dt466 into a deuce. Could it be just a bolt in with the right parts, and if not would it even be worth the engine swap. What would the flexability of the fuel be also?
yea it is expensive and there nwould be some wiring invloved. It also has a spot for A PTO. and not very long, But since we are just talking I think the best thing to do would be to buy a wrecked chevy hd get and transfer the duramax and allison into the deuce. BUt thats just talk.:)
I would love a allison 1000 like the one in my 3500. They have a lower first gear than most other autos and even in stock form can hold more power than a duece multifuel will ever make. Mine is a 5 speed but you can get one with a six.
I would put it just above the alt. It has a electric clutch much like a ac compressor. so unless it was engaged it would not use any power, but I dont remember the gpm rating right now.
how about a belt driven hydro pump. I have used them several times on one ton trucks to power verious things Thats what I want to install on my deuce to power the stock winch.
