I would say keep the 936 also, you can still find a H1 running or at least complete and like some outhers have said if you cant to the work it would be hi $$ to restore this 1. I too would like to see pics thought.
HI YUP the winch is from a 5 ton wrecker and I see in video it has gas eng dash (no tack) it was mounted under the dash later, when changed to diesel eng maybe.
 oops yup always fuse it fyi it is better to replace that wire that burned rather than just tape it.
A wire that gets that hot will loose its ability to Carry a load,so if it gets hot again will not last.

HI NEW guy :-D well most go from 1,500 to 2,500 or so but then theirs shipping un less its close and the GL will let you drive it out:driver:.
That's if it runs hope this helps where are you can some times get them on ebay or other sites for 5 to 7 k already titled too.
I have an m35a2 old owner called it sarge so I kept it its like a cat or dog hard to change its name  my m756a2 ? well doozer like the builders on cartoon called fraggle rock :driver:well it was a navy Seabees trk and they are always building things  my m34 well?? not sure yet
I have an m35a2 and some new and used parts fun to see if the parts add up to whole trk:) weight at 13,030 that's unladed weight w/o fuel n crew. I might part it out anyway .
I would take an M816 over the 936a2 any day 1st it will out run (on a grade) the 936a2 and will out winch it too.
I have used both in the"real world" the hydraulic winch will not pull as hard before it goes into bypass and stops pulling.
I would use an 936/a1 same engine as 816 .
I would say it might be the last part of the vin of what its out of n maybe I like this too +1 to anyone who recognizes my avatar!
I have been told I act just like him:naner: merdoc A team :)
I see ok you can change to dot 3 (less cost) but need to change (or rebuild) ALL brake parts m/c calipers wheel cyl's etc and flush out steel lines.

I would say yes its the hydro boost they are not to pricey (here anyway)and can find a good one now n then at a wrecking yard too.
