That was a good catch you made seeing the wrong dip stick. Many might have missed that. You are probably OK. There is a safety margin with the oil levels. Also, as you mentioned, lack of oil pressure should have shut the engine down unless someone has bypassed the switch. Buying this stuff...
Replacement used hoods are plentiful and cheap. Before spending a lot of time trying to repair your hood, I would recommend looking for a cheap replacement.
The easiest thing to do is buy an A3. I have an A3 with winch and it is fantastic. Very simple to use and trouble free to date. I've also had an A2 with winch which worked fine, but the A3 hydraulic winch beats the PTO driven winch hands down.
I am a firm believer in quality. Quality meters will last decades unless someone does something stupid with them. I also like both Klein and Fluke for quality. I have never had an issue with any instruments made by either company.
Hiawassee, Georgia got 4.5 inches. I'm between Hiawassee and Clayton and we got 7 inches, but we are at a much higher altitude. We were snowed in until noon today. Fortunately, our power is back on and I don't need to run my MEP003A generator anymore.
I'm actually just a few miles from the Appalachian Trail. I'm jealous - I've always wanted to through hike the trail and plan to someday, south to north.
Not two inches, about 7 inches total. The photo is misleading. We're located in the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Georgia and some very steep roads. I'm on 40 acres about a mile from the nearest paved road and surrounded by National Forest. EMC power is now back on.
Well, we're snowed in again in North Georgia and running on our MEP003A. Third time so far this year I've had to run the whole house on the MEP, but only the first time for snow. I'm sure my M35A3 could make it out of here, but the rest of my vehicles are snowbound. The snow is still falling...
When you say no throttle response when pressing on the pedal, do you mean that the pedal can be depressed and you get no throttle response, or that you cannot depress the pedal? The pivot pin on one of my deuces' accelerator pedal corroded and the pedal froze. I actually had to replace the...
I believe you when you said you run the whole house without difficulty. I have an MEP003A which is 10KW and air cooled diesel. I have run my entire house on many occasions for many days at a time. My house is larger than yours. When I first received my MEP, I turned everything I could think...
Definitely try to save the batteries. Do not try to hit it with 10A right away. Use a NOCO or other AGM friendly battery charger and as you mentioned, parallel the battery with a good battery with the charger hooked up. I've had 100% success so far. In one case with an Odyssey battery, it...
DOT 3 and DOT 4 are miscible with water. DOT 5 is not. Take a small sample of what you have in your MC and add it to a cup of water. If it completely disappears, it is DOT 3 or 4. If it forms a definite separate layer, it is DOT 5 which is silicone based. As an aside, DOT 5 is only purple...
The correct filter for the MEP003A is FRAM CH6PL. At least that is what was in mine when received from the military. I've been buying them on E-bay real cheap. However, I've bought several on E-bay that didn't include the O-rings/seals. I currently have a case of them. They are quite easy...
During the recent storms that came through the Southeast we lost power for over 8 hours. The MEP003A fired right up and provided power for the whole house again. This genset was the best investment I've made for military surplus. I was very lucky because the day before the storms hit, I tried...
My wife hates my MEP003A as well. The MEP003A is much noisier than your MEP802A., but has proven to be very dependable. My wife says it stinks and is too noisy. She hates it with a passion until the power goes out in either the hot summer or in the winter cold. Then she loves it. However...
I use the Genius 7200. It handles 12 and 24 VDC as well as AGM and non-AGM batteries. You can see them at https://no.co/ . I also use solargizers as well. However, when there are leaves or snow covering the solargizer, there is zero output. I now have four Genius 7200 chargers for...
