Since no one else has answered that has had it happen to them, I will add that I think they will lock your account so that you can't download paid invoices or fill out your form 97. I got that info from reading here so you could try searching if no one confirms this.
I don't see the point of a "want to buy" section in the classifieds. I mean, who looks through the classified for people looking to buy something that they have for sale ? I know I don't. But, if we must put our wants there, it should at least be separated from the stuff for sale.

The first guy is from France which is the bases that some think GL is a French company. To hear the second guy talk, GL is the best company ever. Makes you wonder why we, their customers, don't feel the same way.
If a lot was all one thing that can be released without mutilation, they might still let it go through without mutilation. But if they can't prove that everything in the lot is ok to release, they may still require it all to be mutilated. The new rules are to prevent what the original post was...
It used to be quite common for scrap to be sold by the pound with no mutilation required. GL was even known to divide the lots up into small piles so people like us could afford to bid on them. Now it has to be destroyed while they watch, as far as I know.
Stuff used to get out in those...
You probably could, but it would have to be heavy duty because of the load.
This is directed to all of the new guys, not just Alredneck. You should be asking these questions in new threads, not in this one. This thread is meant to be answers to FAQs.
You can buy them, but they aren't worth the expense and don't have much of a warranty. The battery tray in a CUCV is designed for 6TL or group 31 batteries.
I wouldn't think so, but I haven't tried it. If you do carry the towbar be sure to carry a pintle adapter for a class IV hitch so anyone with a full size truck can tow you. I have towed a M1010 with a one ton pickup and they tow well...
I have followed a lot of threads asking this question over the years and have yet to see one where anyone has actually towed a stock M105( or any of the other air brake mil trailers) and had working trailer brakes towing with anything that doesn't have air brakes. I have seen a lot of talk...
If you are going to restore it to keep, then buy it. Where else you going to get a 4x4 for 800 plus the cost of the motor of your choice? If it were here I might buy it, but then I already have two.
Just keep in mind what the others have said because you will never get your money back out of it.
I go to locations and pick the base closest to me and work my way out as time permits. This keeps me from lusting over stuff that is too far away to be practical to go get.
The first question you must answer is are we talking "retail value" or "wholesale value"?
If you have always wanted one and have stumbled upon this one close to home then we are in the ball park based on condition of course, but if you just want it to flip it then it is way too high.
There is nothing wrong with your vin number. It decodes exactly as it should. You can go here and print this post off or find a civi shop manual from the 80's and copy the same info. Like others have said, the D for military in the 5th digit is probably not in the insurance company's...
There are very minor differences in early and late M1009s. !986s have different front seat mounts with a different bolt pattern on the floor. I found a pair of seats just like a 1986 in a 1988 civi blazer. There is also an early and late front axle lock outs called out in the TM as before or...
Perhaps a summery of how that turned out for you is in order. Can you drive your ferret on the road? Is it as restricted as this bill is? They did mention that you were consulted.
If I lived in WI and nothing was done I would have to park half of my HMVs. If it did pass I would all but...
Only if it is newer than 1968. Really, the way I read it, you are asking a lot of people to give up most of their rights just so a few people can get very limited rights. If this is the best you can get maybe you should table it until people get their trucks parked and you get more support?
This bill is a big win for the DMV and a big loss for the hobby. As it is now most HMVs can be used however you want to, only those newer than 1968 are in the cross hairs. This bill is so restrictive that in effect all HMVs will be taken off of the streets except for maybe 100 miles a year to...
