A rag top was available as an option when buying a Blazer. You might can find replacement bows from one of the aftermarket suppliers and save yourself some work.
If anyone needs a springer seat let me know, I have two good takeouts where replaced the ones in my M816 with HEMMTT seats. I won't bring them to the rally unless they are pre ordered. 60.00 each or both for 100.00.
It's just like buying a civy truck of the same age,make and model. It's a mixed bag depending how it was treated by the previous owner(s). They're no more difficult or expensive to work on or maintain than any other pickup of that period, at least in my experience.
A heavily modified truck that you haven't inspected seems very iffy to me. I'm not commenting on the sellers work, but a truck that wasn't looked over by someone I know, I would hire a trucker to ship it.
