I keep a Killawatt meter and plug it into the auxillary outlet on the generator and if I am running for hours I plug it into a house outlet. They are only $15 and show cycles per second and voltage, real handy to see while operating and it shows if the on-board gauges are working fine.
Favorite one was the remote brake reservoir. Ease of operation, improved safety, coolness factor. It only took a few times standing on my head looking into that dark hole with a flashlight before I had enough.
Excellent analysis! I bought in when the kits were being sold here on SS for $800. The biggest advantage then was price, but another advantage is we already have air, lots of it and it is easy to access.
At over double the price from what many of us paid, I would very seriously look into...
Our little rural state has one possible consideration- Clark Trucks in Poca, WV.

They specialize in exporting mil trucks worldwide:
They have been around a long time. I used to go by their yard when I was in high school in the 1960s and drool at...
The boot repair is not bad, just plan to do both sides when you do it. I wouldn't wait a year because you might be leaking diff fluid out the boots as well as letting dirt into the knuckles. Enjoy the new toy!
Some run fine without the in-tank pump, I had one that simply did not. Some of the pumps just come apart at the bottom but you can still hear the motor.
One time I replaced the in-tank pump with an external one just above the fuel tank, used the same wiring and all. Very easy. A pump can...
Small world, I did the same thing yesterday with the exception of the 9 clearance bulbs that still need changed out. One way to lower the M1101 is to change out the HMMWV wheels and tires to GMC pickup wheels and tires, I plan to check on this later. It doesn't look like there are any easy...
Interesting. I picked up my 1101 at Atlanta today- just one! They are very nice there, the staff has a forklift that I did not need any help with. Easy in and out compared to a mil base. Good luck on your project, it should pay off for you once you get them home.
What makes my 003 sound loud is when I am running it the other homes are dead silent- no ambient noises at all. No heat pumps, no refrigerators, washing machines and so on. Still, in my opinion it is not "too" loud, I sleep with it 15 feet from the window and I relax hearing the constant tone.
Do you think any soldiers ever exceeded 50MPH? :)
Anyway, I remember for years Uhaul always put 45MPH MAX SPEED in reverse on the fenders of trailers so the driver would see it in the mirrors. Probably everyone drove 45 as soon as they saw it. Also remember the tires are quite large so the...
I can only relate a story of one, but it is an interesting story. I bet there are pics somewhere but I don't have any.
In 1970 the 1st Cav Div was working the Ho Chi Minh trail and we were finding lots of stuff. The Cambodian Incursion was in May and June of 1970 and we located an enemy base...
