I couldn't find the correct slide hammer so I made one out of plumbing stuff. Worked OK.

For what it is worth, I did the best I could to get them to work, had no luck till I replaced the light fixtures. Both were bad and would not work.
Put two new ones on, added bulbs and away it went!

The tires holding air don't indicate a working manifold. You can remove the manifold from the vehicle and the tires should stay up. When the manifold activates it sends a puff of pressure to each axle to find out what pressure is in the axle, other than that the manifold and piping is at room...

A few years ago I capped off my lines, removed everything except the spark plug, added a Kitts ether kit and never looked back. Ether seems to work better IMO.
