Thanks Gary and Gimp! I spent a lot of time trying to figure this thing out when it happened to me. In addition to all the air tool oil in the air assist, I replaced the air regulator at the compressor and spent hours guessing and trying stuff.
Wish I could have figured out the $25 valve...
OK, I slept on the problem and here is what I think. Probably someone who knows better can tell if I am on the right track or not.
On the A2 deuce, when the engine starts air immediately starts building, but on the A3 the gauge stays at zero until suddenly it raises to 120. That air is...
Yes, truck running but not building up air pressure after about 10 minutes. The air was somewhere! because when I tapped that thing it suddenly built up and ran great.
No, the air dryer is new and was working great. The regulator I hit with my percussion tool is shown in TM9-2320-386-24P and is in Figure 113. Air Reservoir and Related Lines. It is listed as part 43 PAOZZ 4820007287467 19207 12267073 VALVE,LINEAR,DIRECT (I think I got the right part)...
Navo, I might be able to help you out on this one. The truck did this once before and it drove me nuts! I added air tool oil to the piston and the drag link, worked them back and forth many times and no joy. At first it started just every once in a while, finally became so serious I was not...
I put a manual switch on also just to be there in case. Are all your glowplugs good? The bypass should not affect starting at all if all is in good shape.
Do you plan to put the chainfall up there? I think it weighs 200 pounds. Since you already installed the back brace I am thinking you will just use it as is?
Very nice looking install.
Here is the switch you are referring to. It also has a LED red warning light on the dash. I think the circuit goes from a hot source to the light to the switch to ground.

On my trucks you can't forget it...
Just looking at Erik's adapter, it does not look like there is a diode but in his description it says "The adapter cable does not affect the blackout lights or the parking light mode (they continue to work as normal)." and that would imply it does. Please post your results. It looks like the...
When I did mine I just removed the lines from the injectors only, took it off as an "octopus". I think it made switching lines and all easier on the bench. This was of course after removing the intake and the 3 pump bolts. Watch those little bolts- I think they may be able to go down the oil...
