If I remember right the power goes to the horn then up the wire to the button. When you push the button all you are doing is grounding the circuit to complete it, then it honks.
If the wire makes contact anywhere along the path it is the same as pushing the button.
Maybe you can talk them in to just checking the parking brake shoes- they are exposed and easy. Also check the license plate light, I can't for the life of me remember if I removed the masking tape! It works though.
Thanks for the beautiful write up. Your DMV is better than ours is, 30 minutes!

To which I think Wreckerman replied:
That is what I was referring to. Bigflew added the M35A3 element. That is all. fat lady sings
I just "cured" my problem. It started with occasional low air warnings, finally got worse till it took forever to fill the tanks. I could not turn the wheel without the buzzer going off.
Did the air tool oil fix, but that did not work. Got under it and started tracing air lines and found a...
Not sure what you mean that it is charging. Anyway, the A3 tach gets 24 volts from the system, has two wires to the sender in the bell housing and that is it. Sometimes the sender gets a little loose and does not receive the signals (one pulse per tooth on the flywheel) and sometimes it is a...
I read the title and thought you were too high to work on the truck. My bad.
Is it slipping or is the engine being pulled down to a stall? Good luck on it.
