The Canadian M37 Trans is synchronized 2nd thru 4th and should bolt up. A larger clutch is used but some flywheels where drilled for both sizes. But good luck on finding the trans , its kinda scarce. You may have to but the whole truck.
Remember if you want to go to a military distributor you will have to change the oil pump. The slot/tang
is offset on the military oil pump and distributors.
Canadian Serial numbers ran from 91400001 to 91404524. They didn't start with a 8. 4524 were built. This comes from John Zentmyers book. Reverse in the canadian trans is far right and up. It and the pto are pretty scarce. The carb air horn on the canadian model is different also
Check the dates on your axles. Mine are 1953 and they have no vents. It was a gasser originally and went through a depot rebuild in 1988. Somewhere between gasser and multifuel, vents were added in the design.
Was this by chance ever on Mackinaw Island? I remember seeing
one( at least it was some kind of landing craft) there in the mid 90's. At any rate what a treasure!
If you have messed the slot up beyond use then just drill deep enough to remove the head. Repair by drilling
with a drill pilot clamped to the hub. Use a drill that is for the thread dia. for tapping. You should be able to chase
the remaining treads out working slowly with a tap or pick. Use...
