DO NOT swap the parts over to the other truck. It rare enough that somebody here will take it off your hands. The brakes are out on mine because a 50+ year old line blew. The lines need replacing but that comes with owning a old truck. It will be the first spring task. Put it in the classifieds...
Lane I had mine rebuilt in Detroit and picked it up the next day. I don't know if their still there
( 3 yrs Ago) neighborhood was real bad. Bearing was a next day item at the parts house. I think they were still using the 251 in 68 power wagons.
Compare you frame with this one. Its a stock 47 cj2. The front bumper is not yet bolted on and the rear hitch assembly is also not on( and probably won't be).
So Kenny in reading this link I can almost be certain that my 1953 with a serial # of M311xxx is a Studebaker. It came from GL witha newer rear box( rust and dent free, fresh paint). The trans and transfer had 88 Mead rebuild tags and a Hercules D turbo. New wiring harness and front sheet metal...
From the lift kits I've seen, all need some space between the original frame and bed. This space could be turned into bed supports. Plus it would have to run the length of the bed to support it on the frame. Like the dump with the double frame.
Has anybody made a 12/24 volt hydraulic dump trailer out of a m101 or m105?
I'm toying with the idea of making one out of a m101. I know that the trailer has dump capabilities to some extent if its loaded right. But making a true one would make loading/dumping a non issue.
