It's a large tire with a very limited run rate - both those factors add up to something with a list price unlike anything you'll put on the family car at K-mart.
Steep? That all depends; are they going to stand behind it (for a short time - because they have gone through it)? If they are selling it, likely the title issues are not a factor for this one. Is it very clean and without any rust? Does it have a winch? A hardtop? A heater? If you answered...
Continue reading the TMs. It's not some folks idea of fun - but all the information is in there.
It's not generating power - that's why you get no reading on any of the meters. You might need to do a manual 'field flash' to get it to start generating AC - that information is also in the TM. It...
Then it's likely just the transducer or meter that reports the operating frequency at fault. You can get the parts if something is defective - but they are spendy. Check all the connections first.
If you don't mind modification from the original state, there are inexpensive digital frequency...
Is there really output from the generator? In other words, is it just an instrumentation problem for the frequency meter - or is the generator not putting out any voltage? What does the output voltmeter say?
You're on the mark here; I made my first purchase a $400 genset, and three weeks later my first EUC had cleared and the road was paved to purchase a truck.
Trouble is, it varys all over the place how long that first one will take; some get squashed after months, and some take only a couple...
Sorry to hear that. Sounds like you're in for a tear down of some sort; my thought would be to seperate the engine from the generator and see which one is stuck, then continue tearing into the problem assembly until you find the issue. I doubt it's the generator - but one never knows.
I...
On the blower end of the engine, there's a small plastic plug in the center of the sheetmetal grille; remove that plug, and use a 3/4" (if memory serves) socket, extension, and breaker bar to turn the engine over by hand. It's fairly easy to do - I had to turn mine over to manually time the...
1: Mags typically get their connection grounded to kill the spark
2: The two-wire alternator is the one used to charge the starting battery; the alternator with A-J connections is, I suspect, the main AC alternator.
To see if you get spark, disconnect the wire from the stud on the mag and...
WOT == Wide Open Throttle.
You want the control all the way in the 'govern' position - that should allow the engine to spool up to the point where the governor takes over control.
Tom and Mark raise good points. That check valve does have a restriction in it that could easily clog. I keep forgetting about that - but I really shouldn't; my genset had a bad IP, and while troubleshooting it I had the entire fuel system apart to clean and check it. I didn't end up having any...
Remove the wire from the glow plug connector before measuring resistance at the plug's spade connector - otherwise your plugs will be in parallel. If both are bad you can detect it with the wire connected - but it's not so easy if only one is bad.
Here's the schematic. About as straightforward an instrument as you can get.
While I don't know this instrument, I suspect it would be useful up through the audio range - perhaps up to several MHz.
Should be easy to get going again. Have you ever brought tube-type equipment back to life...
It's really easy; once you win, you sign an area of the bill of sale that allows for a designated person or company to pick up the item for you. You fill out that part of the form, fax it to your shipper and the driver shows up with it and claims your item.
