Nice job on the truck..i am constantly battling mother nature as well..the trees at the shop drop 1/4" thick blanket of pollen a day..as soon as the dew sets..instant green glue..very frustrating..
I have the manual screw type bead breaker it works..kinda..as you said only 6 places to pick up...
I saw one on the spokane cl not too long ago..it was listed as a dodge power wagon, no arch and someone had moved the winch to behind the cab and fabbed a farm long reach setup..but it was complete otherwise..think it was listed at $400..i was too jammed up with work to go and snag it..never got...
Yep thats where the new house and shop will be..well the house for sure..if i can swing it the shop may go down the hill a bit..option 3 would be a smaller shop up by the house and a bigger deal down the hill. With the ammount of snow we get and the overall grade of the land it may shut the...
The holdup..
Just thought id share whats been the major delay in moving forward with the tcase project.
I spoke with bret or brent at Boyce about an output bearing and am waiting for a reply.
The earthworks here should be done tomorrow, and i'm lining up some logging for the lower portion of...

Could those have been marine corps trucks? We use a bitumen based paint called Apexior 3 at the drydock..its like black glue. But for immersion service nothing beats it.
Yep safety first..my engine has a couple of pushrods in the wrong spots..not bent as far as i can tell..but definately out of the lifter..a side effect of valves stuck down..and possibly bent. All will be revealed when i peel the head off to have a peek inside the beast.
Another hot tip is eye...
All great info so far..i agree..first get the distributor lined up correctly..improper timing will melt pistons and burn valves if you leave it. Next make sure all your vacuum leaks are plugged..then go after the fuel. Its the safest way to go especially if youre running a temporary tank..itd...
Well hopefully ill have some time to get the case modifications and new cover made..
I also need a part number for the upper output shaft bearing( the one with the brake on it) mine is a little crunchy and id like to replace it before it goes back together.
I specialize in CPP's (controllable pitch propellors) and related systems..they are a multi piece propellor controlled by oil pressure..the hubs on this boat were 14 tons each..(x2) and each hub has 4 blades about 5000lbs each..held on by 8 M80 stainless bolts torqued to 17,500 lb/ft.
They are...
Im a mechanic/engine fitter at the largest drydock on the mainland west coast of canada..we do overhaul and major refit to all the ferrys and most of the barge work, cruise ships and super yachts around here. We are scaling up for LNG refits as well so that is kinda exciting.
Todays task..we...
It sounds like you have the positive lead for the starter wired to the first battery..and the feed for the rest of the truck wired to the second battery..that should be fine..i would suspect the starter switch in the dash..my cornbinder does the same thing when it gets tired..have to hammer the...
That number crosses to a delco 10mt starter 9 tooth pinion 12V..
If youre putting 24V to a 12V starter it should spin like crazy.. ive used 6V chrysler starter with 12V systems and its great..you just have to not crank the engine too long or heat will build up in the windings and things will go...
If you clean it really well..use brake clean or laquer thinner then ispropanol as the final wipe you will get a nice bond..if you can resist over torquing the seal youll be able to take the cover on and off a few times before a do-over.. its handy for vehicles that need regular lash adjustments...
If i use a gasket adhesive i usually glue it to the valve cover..makes it a lot easier to chip off 10 years later and there is no chance of sending debris down into oil drainback passages.
Well..the boat is still drying in the dock..both cpp hubs off and in the shop, one rudder down, one shaft out and in the shop.
I may have a day off by the end of the month..if i get lucky.
