    Ohio to Houston

I averaged about 10 MPG for the trip but it was all flat land, no cargo cover and I did not push the speed very hard. Not sure if the tanker is a bit heavier like an M109 as my shop van does not do as well as the M35.

    Has anyone actually driven a M35 20+hours?

Break the trip up into two days. Got in earlier this evening to my brother's place in Grand Junction, CO from Des Moines, Iowa. Spent one night on the road in NE Colorado and it made the drive a lot easier. I have done four long recoveries and the 1,200 mile Texas to Florida in one short left...

Pics of my 1009... to keep or not to keep

You should bring her down to Florida and go home with a deuce. :-D

    Brake Lights Always on....

I had that happen when pulling a trailer not long ago. I found that one of the wires running into a rear light was loose and shorting against the frame.

Pics of my 1009... to keep or not to keep

I would keep that like it is right now. Not hard to find a Bronco with a lift kit and big tires but a good looking CUCV is a lot more rare. I think that one of them is going to be next on my list to go with the deuces. At the end of the day it is yours to do with as you want.

    Ohio to Houston

Oilcan, I just did a drive of about the same length from San Antonio to Tampa, FL. It took me 28 hours and we drove straight through with only stops for fuel, and restrooms. I would think something like 22 - 25 hours of driving not including stops depending upon how hard you push the deuce...

M261 NIKE Guided Missile Trailer Pics?

Found some info on www.nikemissle.org I found this picture of a trailer, it is not much of a picture but it is something. You have to grab this thing if only to make sure that a piece of history is saved. Does not look like a big trailer but I sure would not mind pulling one behind the deuce.

M109A3 shipping from CA to WA?

The M109 stands 10' 10" tall. Not much ability to lower it other then a couple of inches by letting air out of the tires.

How to seal a leaky M109 Van

Lets see, you remove all the interior sheets, rip out the insulation, rip out the wiring, grind out all the rusty spots, weld new steel, seal the seams, prime the exterior and interior of the outer box....... Oh yeah, do not plan on driving it for a while. Hope to have mine back on...

    Which Trailer for a Shop?

You can find and pull this with a standard deuce but you will be at the towing limit just with the dolly and trailer. Armada has a good link about his M146. http://www.steelsoldiers.com/trailers/24811-m146-completed.html

    Almost successful M185 recovery!

An easy way to tell if there is leaking in the van body is to look along the bottom of the sheet metal. If you have rust there then water is leaking in and it pools down at the bottom. I am just finishing up patching all of the leaks in the exterior of my box and sealing all of the seams...

    LMTV Cover on my Deuce

Let me start by thanking Chris and Vinny. During their trip to pick up Chris' new trailers and deliver parts around the South East they managed to find some excess cargo covers. I believe that this cover is for the LMTV and fits my deuce with very little modification. The cover is taller then...

    My first 5-ton!

Mark, Good looking 5 ton. I am heading out to Barstow soon, read when EUC clears, with my brother to pick up his new deuce. I will have to swing by and see what I can take home with me. The airlines do not give you a lot of baggage now and Barstow to Tampa is a bit long for a deuce, not to...

bobbed, CBC, M105 and a tent

Nice looking set up. Looks like there is not a lot of room to spare between the tires and the trailer body. Take care if you load it up heavily then hit some rough roads.

    Won a M185A3

Glad to see that this went to a fellow Steel Soldier. I was bidding on that one. Looking for a West Coast one to stash in Colorado for my trips to visit my brother. It looks really good and hope that you have an easy recovery.

Post auction deuce inspection Camp dodge

Rat, Give a shout to my brother, he goes by Garlstedt on the site. We had a compressor implode on us coming back from Kansas. Hooked up a quick disconnect to the air line that is in the cab. Used a 12V air compressor to feed air to the system that way. Not an ideal fix but it got us over the...
