You can tied the steering down if you wheel lift the back axles , but if you are flat towing you do not want to tie the steering it can contirbute to problems when turning !!

Well what happens is on the M809 series truck the air line are plumbed into the air system so that they will activate the air pack and apply the brakes when the towing truck applies the brakes that is how the brakes work on the M809 series truck being towed

All you need to do is run 1 wire for running lights and 2 wires for the turn and brake lights from the towing truck to the back of the towed truck !! and turn the switch on !!

Are the axles front load like a commerical tractor trailer ?? If they are ,then those axles probablly are used on the M915, M916, M917 and M920 series truck. If you want to use them on a M39 series or M809 series 5 ton truck you will have to redo all the air system for the brakes to a M939 or...

If those 5 ton axles have air brake cans on them that tells me that the axles are setup for use on the m939 5 ton series truck they all have full air brakes on them !!
