Did you turn the seat down to the lowest level? That gives you a few inches. Also some guys have shortened the steering column. Big plus.
Anyway, best to you, hope you can join us very broke folks. :driver:
The A3 comes with air assist steering. What is scaring you about the auto? They are in thousands of school busses and other applications. Also the two speed transfer case puts a lot of slow power at your disposal.
Upgrade a non-power steering to air assist for about $1000. Hydro power can...
I have been thinking of this. I think if I go through with it I will buy a RigMaster APU. It does AC, heat, generator (could power house in an emergency) and charges the batteries.
I think used they are under $2500. Yup, just checked a popular auction site and there is one listed. I bet...
I just thought of something funny- if they had to fill out that form for a M35A3! Built from 2 or 3 residue trucks- it would probably end up with a salvage title.

It probably would be cheaper to haul. You will be at $500 in fuel alone. Take the cargo cover off if it has one, also note the insulated cab cover can be troublesome. I got a knife out at a rest stop and removed the liner. Little pieces of the insulation kept getting in my eyes.
Welcome! I just got back from a 500 mile trip in my A3 yesterday (picked up a 105 trailer). Ran great of course. I would suggest http://www.m35a3.net/forum/ as a place to do some additional research on these toys. Also check Erik's Erik's Military and Industrial Surplus - Military Vehicle...
