I keep working the hinge bolts till I get them moving just a bit, then keep working and working till they move so I can drive them up. No fun!
As for lifting the door, I use a couple of straps and an engine lift. Makes it easy for a grayhair. :jumpin:
I still have a tach problem on my A3. I bought a new tach but could not get it working with the magnetic pickup. A very slight adjustment pegged it, back it off just a little and it dies. Hour meter not working on the new one either. The new one goes to 3500, the stock one to 3000. There...
I think 1 1/2". Just get a 6 or 12 ton jack at walmart, good to go. Don't forget jack stands too.
Airing up from the gladhand is even easier if you buy a couple of valve extensions and a clamp on filler for your air hose. Just don't over inflate.
I'm thinking seal also, but could be either. Read this:

Rear wheels are somewhat similar. Beautiful truck!
Good luck with the trip, should be fun. I am guessing you will incorporate the rig into your ham radio hobby? It will be interesting to see what you do with it.

The air dryer is a Haldex Pureair. Parts are available at big truck stores, including a whole new unit. Erik's has parts for it:
Air Dryer Filter & Small Parts Kit For M35A3, Haldex "Pure Air Plus", DQ6026
My money is on the dryer also. In addition for trouble shooting purposes turn off the air assist steering valve on the firewall, just to make sure it is not the problem. The air assist vents into the air intake I think, and air escaping can do it quietly.
