For what it is worth, capacity is 40 gallons to the "full" mark on the tank, 50 gallons filled to the brim. WARNING - the fuel pump does NOT extend to the bottom of the tank, there is approximately 10 gallons of "unuseable" fuel in the bottom of the tank. I can only assume this was done...
Sorry, I got jammed up today between Doctors appointments for my wife and repairing a knuckle boot on the Deuce. I'll ship out sockets tomorrow to anyone who sent me an order today or yesterday. I apologize for the delay.
Dave, we are all glad to help out fellow MVers on the far side of the big pond, especially recognizing the parts supply situation over there is quite different than here in the states. Please add me to your list of potential parts suppliers, I'd get you anything I can at my cost plus shipping...
Come on, help me out here! Doesn't anyone have an idea of what these parts are worth? I'm trying to figure out a fair and reasonable price for both me and the buyer.
Go to the Interstate battery home page & use the dealer locator to find dealers in your area. I found about a dozen dealers in my area, couldn't find any blems but the dealers quoted me prices for new batteries ranging from $105 to $160. It pays to shop around.

There are three major differences between a straight diesel and a multifuel diesel. All direct injection diesels have a flat cylinder head, the combustion chamber is built into the top of the piston. In a straight diesel, the combustion chamber is a simple cup shaped depression in the...
The battalion/brigade designation goes on the left side of the bumper as you are viewing it (right side of front bumper, left side on rear), company and vehicle number on the opposite side. The Division is not included. Thus you would have 1/69 on the right front and left rear; and A-(number) on...
RE: Re: RE: Re: Need your VIN number
Kaiser Jeep was purchased by American Motors in 1970. It is not clear to me when the nameplates were actually changed; thus 1970-1971 would be the transition period with possibly both nameplates being used. Most likely anything prior to 1970 would be a...
I might be parting out a LDT465 or two in the near future. I'd like to get a fair price for my parts without gouging the buyer. What is a fair price for the following parts:
a. A good used starter?
b. A good used alternator?
c. A good used air compressor?
d. A good used "D"Turbo
e. A good...
I won two Deuce engines from GL in Columbus OH. Is there anyone in the area who could (for a suitable fee, of course) pick them up and store them for a week or two until I can make arrangements to transport them home!
I bought some bulk hose and reusable fittings several years ago to replace some broken lines on an old Case tractor. The hose barb that goes inside the hose is threaded on the outside, and the ferrule that goes over the hose is threaded on the inside. You simply cut a piece of hose to the length...
There is a TM in the Technical Manual section on installing the grille cover, it is the first one in the TM section. But yes, you DO have to have those little clips (see my avatar)
I don't know about most. ISSPRO sells 1600 and 2000 degree thermocouples. It doesn't seem that even a 1600 degree termocouple should have a problem. But I'll take Dr. Foster's word for it and stick to the 2000 degree thermocouple.
RE: Re: RE: post turbo?
What Dr. Foster was saying is that if you are running near max EGT a lot you run the possibility of melting the end of the probe and having the turbo suck it up. Not good for the turbo!
It has the air inlet pipe going down to where the turbo is located instead of going directly to the intake manifold, so it should have a turbo. Can't tell from these pics what type it is though.
Could also try an upholstery service or an awning/boat cover repair shop. They should be able to repair the tear, use shoe goo from the inside on the pinholes.
I have an ad in the classified section, but that does not seem to be working, so here it is. I still have some neat Deuce combo wheel lug sockets avaialble CHEAP!
These are impact sockets, 3/4" drive, fits both the 1-1/2" hex wheel lug nut and 13/16" square inner wheel cap. Steel Soldiers price...
