With most of the detailed prep work behind us we're just about ready for the epoxy primer to go on. All the doors and a ton of misc parts were sent out for stripping and powder coat with zinc rich primer.
Here's an example of what we're finding on this rig, which is not really that bad considering it's age and the service it's seen. We cut the bad part off, ground the hull to clean metal then welded a new part made from stainless steel. Rust, twisted and broken parts along with stuck bolts are...
I've purchased everything to convert this one to a slant back. I'm putting the late variant gun ring with the gearbox operator...just as soon as I can finish the V150 and V100 we're working on...
2012 marks 75 years for the Georgia State Patrol and 50 years for the Sky Marshal Program
I have some great friends in both agencies who presented me with these really cool commemorative gifts that I thought I'd share

Taking the axles out so we can replace the leaf springs and address a few concerns underneath and also removed the top assembly...rust had no mercy on this unit
Just as Rory said, this one uses the entire back portion as the engine bay now. In addition to the dual vision blocks for the driver, it also sports a 6V53 diesel, Allison transmission and 5 ton axles.
You are correct on the 1033 program, only other agencies with arresting powers can have the...
Here's another LAV150 coming out on the 1033 program. This unit was among several reclaimed by the US during the invasion of Panama in 1989 called 'Operation Just Cause' This one is pretty rough but wont stay that way for long.
