I have driven all three setups extensively. The sprag unit original M35 type transfer case always leaves me wondering if it's going to engage, and if I roll backwards a few inches with the clutch down and it in a forward gear am I gonna ruin the sprag unit? The first truck I bought was a sprag...
It certainly looks like a lot of people think they are well worth investing in. lots of money spent tonight on Air-O-Matic steering assist kits for the deuce. Those that think they are not worth it need to come to work with me on a day we use old smokey on a job site. 70 loads of dirt on a...
It is a REB kit for the sprag unit replacement in a deuce transfer case. All done in the "top hat" remove the sprag unit, install new gear and shaft, control lever and have true selectable all wheel drive when you want it. They stopped building them a while ago, I hope with enough requests from...
I'll be there, with the new secondary and final fuel filter adaptors, FINALLY. On display for the first tme. And a few surprizes too. Looking forward to getting out of the snow belt for a while. JT out
Very nice article, you surely have resurrected a dead 106 into a fine looking piece of military history. Not to mention the mule was a basket case when you got it. JT out
If the pods weren't on the truck and tied down well, that driver probably wouldn't be around today. The highest solid part of a standard M35 is the top of the motor, think about that during a rollover. JT
I lent NCdeuce , on this site, my large set of installation drawings to put his used kit together, I know he has the kit on now, you could PM him to mail them to you, when you are through with them, please contact me and send them back home. John T
And I received my new Budd socket from Lee on Friday. Darned nice design on the internal set up. Better than the ones I have at the shop that cost more money. Thank You Lee for doing this. John T:-D
I have the accessory drive unit that goes on the transmission PTO. It gives you a rear facing PTO, independant of the front facing PTO. I just did a dump conversion using a Crysteel hoist and pump/valve/tank combination driven by an accessory drive off a Deuce transmission PTO. It is very...
Zeligson truck equipment did those windshields and fiberglass front ends for high line and oil field trucks. We had one with a Sterling Marauder pressure digger on the back end. Drilled a lot of big holes with it. JT
You give me cold chills with the pictures and stories you're telling. my Aces & Eights is a tribute to you who came back and the ones who didn't. I hope we never let people forget. I hope we have good people to do it again when we need to. JT
I have done these dump conversions on M35s too. I have been searching for the best prices on new hoists and hinges, and PTOs and pumps and tanks and contrls. All the cheap numbers being kicked around here sound delicious, but when it comes down to it, The cheapest new hoist I found was 1900...
The odds are your right front gladhand vent is not working. My 5 ton dump truck showed the same brakes locking up problem. I replaced air-pac, master cylinder, and all rubber hoses. Didn't fix it at all. Friend in NJ with 816 wrecker went through the same thing, replaced it all, fixed nothing...
