What have you done to your FMTV or LMTV today

makes logical sense..... and IMHO if locker was in rear axle; that set of tires would end up wearing the most, but having worn even more than what you have experienced. thus far. but that is only speculation and a debate for other threads on something like: "Which axle in a 6x6 for locker...

What have you done to your FMTV or LMTV today

you can get that type Locker for around same or less from Bryce Wasielak. He has sold hundreds of them with out anyone having issues. You wont need one in both rear axles. one of them is fine. IMHO do the middle axle so you scrub tires less with it in the rear axle. Granted install in...

Wiring Schematics for M1078 (1997 with new C7)?

one of the problems with the LBCD system is it does its magic by manipulating the relays (battery disconnects) located in the box attached to side of battery box. Well these are known to corrode, short out etc. Since your LSCD-ish thingy seems to be wired in similar to the LBCD.... maybe...

Wiring Schematics for M1078 (1997 with new C7)?

hmm.... going by nomenclature used as we know it: LBCD = Load Balance Control Device going by the schemeatic that seems to shows some sort of "sensing" purpose then you get LSCD = Load SENSING Control Device. ???

LMTV AC Air Conditioner Gen 2 Duck Bill drain replace

epoxy/braze orr?? a piece of sheet metal over where duck bill goes. Order largest duck bill you can find and drill the washer out to mount it.... or two duck bills that together would equal the apporx volume of the Red Dot one.

Who's running dynamic tire balancing beads?

so far no one has spoke up on this. Its a relatively unknown product that seems stuck below the radar even though they have been out for a while now.

    Alternate Alternator Selection

is that 25.x Volts; enough volts?? considering their is likely a reason OEM FMTV is 28.x volts.

How long can I go after Alternator stops working w/four 12v batts? and diagnising/fixing 200amp hummer alt on LMTV

good point. One is a 100w Halogen (was way less expensive than a heated LED to keep off snow when put it in 5+yrs ago)

How long can I go after Alternator stops working w/four 12v batts? and diagnising/fixing 200amp hummer alt on LMTV

Update about two batts use with no working alternator. If it gets much below 40f.... and your batts are not brand new..... you need all four to make it 60 miles. Seems ever 5 to 10 degrees it goes colder you loose a lot of voltage. On 20f days with two batts.... the 30 mile drive home in the 60...

Replacing hoses: build locally or find the part?

we really could use a thread in here on how to find spec's as you mention. Ive found them on occasion but always forget which of the sites can actually lead one down to them... and which ones just want you to fill out info so they can send you sales material

Looking to purchase a 1996 1083 and drive it 120 miles home. What could possibly go wrong?

luck of the ugly draw.. sorry to hear about M221 Driver...... realistically I bet back roads less safe. Little to no places to pass slower vehicles don't mix with idiots in a hurry. Least on the Four Lanes and Interstates an idiot has at minimal 50% more chance to safely pass you.... that...

    M1078 Battery Conversion

@dsl will add a thought..... on the engine add a block heater. Yeah you are in NC I know.... honestly though diesels are "heat" engines.... little pre-heat and they start soooooo easy with less wear on the engine, starter, and more. You can get thermostatic 110v switch wall plugs . it...
