Some other things to check are mentioned in this thread.
I suspect you have a bad battery, connection, wire or other issue with the front battery.
The GP relay chattering means that it is not getting a...
I installed a small "ice cube" style relay that switches the volt meter connection from the orange wire that monitors the GP voltage to the 12 volt side of the electrical system.
I agree with Tim, it appears that you have a relay that fails under load.
This thread shows what can happen inside the GP relay. After the relay was replaced, I added a 2nd voltmeter to monitor the voltage to the glow plugs with a second voltmeter. Post#29 shows pictures of the additional...
Went to start the M1009 today, no start completely dead. Found the front battery was dead.
Connected jumper cables and noticed the GEN1 light was on with no key in the ignition.
Got it started and the both voltmeters were low. I have volt meters on the 12 and 24 volt side of the electrical...
Here is some info on the PA window tinting laws:

Putting a camo paint scheme on the rear and back window of a M1009 should be legal in PA.
A couple of years ago I tried to camo the rear side windows of my M1009...
Cleaned them with this http://www.eastwood.com/vinyl-prep-aerosol-14-09-net.html
And then painted them with this http://www.eastwood.com/burgundy-interior-paint-aerosol-12-oz-net.html
Thank you for the kind words and for letting me know that your cards arrived intact.
I would like to extend a Thank You to all that have purchased GP cards.
The next version will be out soon.

Tim is right.
The GP system will draw 100 amps with 8 properly working glow plugs.
This is an actual measurement of 4 AC60G glow plugs in a M1009.
Full scale is 50 amps.
If the temp sensor fails in the open mode (high resistance) or is unplugged, the card will see the high resistance and will close the glow plug relay. The card thinks the engine is cold with high resistance from the sensor.
If the temp sensor fails in the closed mode (low resistance) or the...
By Pass Wire
Here is a picture of the wire installed on the GPD series GP controller. I used a flat washer on the top of the original nut and a second 4-40 nut on top of the ring terminal.
If you ground the wire coming off of the transistor, the GP relay will close.
It would be a good idea...
Here is a little known fact about the GPD-2B and 2C cards.
The cards we make are very easily modified to add a manual push button to it and keep the original GM wiring intact. No splicing is required to add a push button to our card.
The long machine screw that holds the large transistor to...
This is a good source for relays for the GP system.

I have used them in several trucks and other applications at work, so far no issues with them.
