    Glow Plug Module Manufacture

Thanks for the nice comments. And Thank You to all that have purchased cards. The cards are made by a USN Viet Nam veteran and myself. I served in the USAF, NY and PA Air National Guard way back in the 80's. I also employ a prior service Marine and an Army Iraq Combat Vet. Recently the Army...

A muddy resistor bypass - overkill is a GOOD thing!

Minor correction, it is 100 amps that 8 AC60's draw at 11.3 VDC. We use these 100 and 150 amp breakers in vehicle radio installations. http://www.delcity.net/store/Hi!Amp-Surface-Mount-!-%3Cbr%3EManual-Reset-(Switchable)/p_193073

    Carmine Red

From what I have found, Carmine is a bright red. I have painted all of the interior burgundy parts in three CUCV's with this color and it works very well. This is very close to the OEM color. http://www.eastwood.com/burgundy-interior-paint-aerosol-12-oz-net.html One of the dash pads was...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

A good set of tire chains is hard to beat. There are all different types for various conditions. Mud, Ice Snow etc. Driving skill and knowing your limitations are critical in conditions like this. I think you made a wise choice and turning around when you did. Karl

ST85 vs. other c/o GP Relay?

I use these relays for our projects at work. They work well as a GP relay and snow plow relay. http://www.murcal.com/Catalog/Metal-DC-Contactor-Family/974-1215-011-09

    Hood tune up.

TriFlow is fantastic. We buy it by the case. It works very well on keeping things well lubricated.

Not a problem, more of a glow plug question I'm not sure about

That is normal operation for the GP card. "During a cold engine start sequence, the GPM will typically keep the WAIT light on for approximately 8 seconds and will keep the GP relay closed for approximately 15 seconds. This time is measured from when the GPM sees the start sequence from turning...

Not a problem, more of a glow plug question I'm not sure about

I check them every year, usually just before winter. This way I know that I have working glow plugs when they are needed most. I also change the fuel filter at the same time as the GP check. I always write the date and the mileage on the fuel filter with a sharpie. This way I have a quick...

    Wait Light Stays On

I have a few of them. I still have a Simpson 260 Series 7M I bought in 1980. The red wire is positive?? Is that correct?:?:

    Wait Light Stays On

Bringing up an old thread here with a similar problem. I was testing the GP system on a recently acquired M1010. The wait light would come on and stay on for an extended period of time. Much longer than normal. I would hear the GP relay close and then open as normal and the wait light stayed...

    M1009 Understanding Warm Start Woes

Our GP card testing has confirmed this "dead zone"as well. There is a temperature window where the GP card does not always come on.

    M1009 Understanding Warm Start Woes

I have 2 trucks that do the exact same thing. The only way to get them to start (when the engine is warm) is to heat the glow plugs some and then they both start right away. The M1009 has a new IP in it and all the cylinders passed a compression test. The latest revision on the GPD2 (C...

Johns plans are to lower the coolant level, sand and irrigate the area needing repair with brake clean and then install the JB Weld. Thanks for the suggestion I will pass it along in the next phone call.

    JATonka. Broke down in Pa.

On phone with him now. He has some help coming. I will be on standby ready to roll if they need anything. I'm about 2 hours away from him. He lost a freeze plug near the exhaust manifold. Has one coming and will see if he can get her back to operating condition. Will update as news comes in...
