You could fab up something that is like the hoist in the M6. Make it modular so it is easily removable. We had modular hoists for pulling heads and engines out of boats, they were aluminum and could handle a C series engine....like the ones in A2 5 tons...except with all the marine stuff on...
Deuce brakes are a PITA if there are things wrong in the system. Major and minor adjustments are important. Start with the mechanical adjustments, then do the hydraulics. When they're done up correctly, they work well.
"the PT could have jumped out of the socket on the follower and is sitting between the valve and inj followers...not in the cup. I'd pull the box and have a look see."
Easy to happen if the box is removed, the "suction" of the oil will cause the PT to stick to the lever adjustment screw and...
Let me see if I can find a p/n for the rubber. What was common practice was to buy 2, cut one in half and install the in tact one first, then the lower half of the other stopper. When you put it in, DO NOT tighten it until the screw stops, that is over tightening it. Turn it until there is...
Rusty, I dunno, that is not a FE777 MC, the outlet(s) are on the side and not at the rear, (single line) like the others I have seen. Also lokoks like a plastic reservoir. Looks like two outlets. Where do those two lines go?
Flywheels are balanced individually. The Damper takes care of balance as the engine runs. Flywheel can go on any position. If you use a FW hsg from a small cam on a big cam, you will need to enlarge one mounting hole, it is the one above the cam, when the engine went to a larger dia cam, that...
Those temps are fine. When the block loop gets hot enough for the stat to start opening, the cool coolant from the radiator loop cools the sender enough to shut the fan off, close the stat and re direct the flow back through the block loop. It is called stat modulation. Only after running it...
Just got home, my Son and G-daughter were still here! Fastnova, thanks for the invite and the good time. It was great to put faces to names, haven't done that in a while. Thanks to all for the awesome food last night. I think you should have brought more wood!!
Can't believe how well the 7T worked!
Threads sticking out of the lever. Normally there should be 2 to 3 threads protruding past the jamb nut. One valve, In or Ex, I forget which one, does have more protruding than the other, but all cylinders will be the same. If you have one cylinder with 5, 6, 8 threads on the adjusting screw...
Get off at Ft Irwin Rd, go N, it is paved, it is about 7 miles to Copper City road, it is dirt, turn left. From there about 13 miles to the road they are on, there will be a half buried tire at the intersection. Left to them, about two miles. They are a ways out there!
Careful with bio, it is highly corrosive and the early Cummins junk didn't like it, BUT, since it is corrosive, it might help! I agree, looks like water or something water based. There are other fuel system cleaners out there, I just have never seen them work, so if the FG part can't be located...
How to check accessory drive timing. When you can go through 1/2 of the tune up process and the engine locks up, it usually means the timing is off or you have done it incorrectly.
Top Stop, Adjust A, Inj 3, Valve 5. Put a socket with a 6 inch or so extension on it on the #3 injector jamb nut...
Man, that is NASTY!! I am kinda fighting this kind of issue on a deuce, been sitting for +13 years. The shut off was stuck hard. the HH arm kept wanting to spring back to the no fuel position. I have let it run and get some heat in it and it is better. I moved it the other day and upon clutch...
