Sure wish I had taken some.
Grade 8 shear pins were a blower operators best friend.
Watching a plow take the arresting barrier was interesting.
And don't stop next to a B-52 loaded with nukes to take a "nature break". The Security Police get a little upset.
Ahhh, the memories...
So long ago, I believe it was the WT-2206.
We also had the under body scrapers on the roll overs, we could peel and shave the ice right off the runway. At night, watching a string of monster plow trucks go 55 MPH down the runway with a shower of sparks coming out from underneath them was a...
Welcome to the site.
I spent many hours in Oshkosh trucks plowing and blowing snow off of the runway at
Griffiss AFB back in the early 80's. Operated the roll over plows, ribbon and auger type snow blowers.
They are really nice machines.

Battery terminal connections are very important on all vehicles.
Just looking at the terminals for imperfections is not good enough.
Remember that it is the part of the battery connections that you can't see that is the most important.
The mating surfaces of the battery post and terminal need...
Having read a few threads on battery related problems, here is a little tutorial on preventing them.
Starting (and glow plug) systems require a considerable amount of current from the electrical system. All components of the system need to have clean and reliable connections from the battery...
I think your GP card and relay are good.
You eliminated approx 50-60 amps of current draw from the electrical system when you disconnected it.
It sounds as if you have a connection on the 12 volt side that fails with high current demand.
Possibly a cable, connection or the battery it self...
My deuce has a split brake system and no parking brake warning light on the dash.
The only sure way to know, is to look under the truck for the additional brake circuit parts.

Possible problems are;
1. One or more of your GP's are open.
2. The system votage is higher than normal.
It sounds as if the GP module is functioning properly and that you have a few bad (open) glow plugs.
Is the GP system the stock 24 volt system or has the dropping resistor been bypassed?
Up under the dash on the left hand side near the parking brake foot pedal.
Should be in a black plastic housing about the size of a pack of cigarettes.

The Wait light will stay on for about 15 seconds for a cold start. After the engine is started, the GP card will re-fire the GP's, this could be as long as 15 seconds or it will cycle the plugs on and off depending on the voltage to the plugs.
What you described sounds normal to me.

Pink wire should have 12 volts on it. Connecting the light blue wire to ground should close the relay.
Check the fuses to see if there are any that are open.
