We can't really tell from the battery hookup but the one of the negatives usually goes to a bolt below the starter as the ground point. If you don't have the batteries in series and your grounding one out, that will cause the melt down of the battery terminal and the fuse to blow.
You should...
Today, I carefully made sure everything moved correctly with the fuel rail, without taking the front cover off. Then I carefully put the injector pumps in, making sure the pins were in the fuel rail, like Perry mentioned earlier. After everything was in place, I hit the starter and after a...
Thank you so much Perry for the write up. I'm going to try to realign the fuel rail without taking the front apart to save time but I will let everyone know how it goes.
I 100% agree. The 800 series are awesome but for reliability I would chose a 000 series. The only thing I wish the 002 or 003 had was an overvoltage fault, because when the regulators fail it sends 140+ into the house. :-)
fastbackperry it sounds like I have your problem. Since you have taken the front of the motor apart and seen the problem. Do you think there is a way to fix the problem without taken the front of the motor apart?
Thank you so much. Yes everything moves freely, when I take the injector line off the pump, I don't get any spray and it's getting fuel from the fuel pump. If I put pump #1 in and move the fuel rail with my index finger through #2 injector port and move the fuel rail back, I can get solider 2 to...
Hey Guyfang, yes I'm an avid member and won't post anything without research. One thread I read was MEP-802a shorted, now running rough and then Pclausen of how he is rebuilding 3 mep-802a's. I have saved and read over your manual from the engine manufacturer on the fuel rail and fuel pump...
I'm in the process of working on 802a which had the injector pumps removed. I installed new pumps but can not get them to pump. I believe my problem is with the fuel rail. I can take the pumps out and feel the fuel rail and move it front to back with my index finger. But if I keep my index...
Its more than likely the fuel pump capacitors. The easiest way to see, is if you will reset the dc breaker and unplug one fuel pump connector at a time to see which one is shorted and popping the breaker. When you find the bad capacitor just cut it out and splice the wires together. If you...
1st picture is the connector for the oil pressure line. The line goes up around the dead crank switch
2nd picture is the fuel filter connector and that line goes to the water separator
3rd is just the drain for the fuel tank, line connects both adapters you have circled.
The fuel pumps on the 800 series will run at the same rate all the time unlike the 002a-003a. If it's an emergency you can hit the battle short switch and it won't shut down but it bypasses all safety features. The floats sometime get stuck causing the fault and sometimes the internals of the...
I agree, it takes a while for these units to wet stack because normal running temp is 200F. Unless you're missing the thermostat or running in extreme cold I wouldn't worry. Like Guyfang said, when you have black crud coming out the exhaust or see it running down the side of the exhaust manifold...
If everything on your machine is near perfect, the engine will not lag. Some units I have worked on will lug down with 100% load but then others go right along, like they don't have any load at all. The only true way to know if your near 100% load, is to get a clamp on amp meter to measure the...
That's fantastic! One year we were without power for 7 days and the 002a keep everything going nicely. It's nice to not have to worry about power outages anymore.
That is a tank for the 002a and you have a lot of extras on it. Just the tank is around $125, the fuel gauge indicator is $65 and aux fuel pump float is around $100. But most people buying the tank will only want the tank itself because they have the fuel level gauge and aux fuel pump float...
Where are you located tbearatkin? I'm located about an hour north of Memphis. If you ever need anything let me know.
The 003a will be more than enough for 2 houses with minimal usage as you described. I have a 002a which runs everything in my 1100sq ft house and I have a 003a at my parents...
Justacitizen, check out his website: http://www.lakeserv.net/mep/index.html . I have personally purchased a few DC Voltage regulators and I've also bought a couple of the AC Voltage regulators. All have performed perfect, you can't beat the quality & price.
